OL/DE Brad Bormann commits

6-4 260 Flemington, NJ  per Rivals.  Evaluated as a DE by Scout.com and Rivals,  not rated but they cite a 365 bench 500 squat.   Welcome, Brad!

Even carney has to be happy about the ht/wt of this player.  Very Happy

All-Area  O-lineman:

BRAD BORMANN
School: Hunterdon Central
Year: Senior
Position: Lineman
Highlights: Coach Matt Perotti called Bormann a "plow horse," who had great lateral momentum and had the ability to step out and help with the outside game. Bormann is considering Williams, Cornell, Lafayette, the University of Penn and Princeton and would like to play college football. The Red Devils ran for 1,780 yards and many of them were picked up behind Bormann, who played right tackle.

Edited to add OL designation, agreeing with FT.

Carney will reserve judgement until he can see some shuttle run numbers and perhaps a wunderlik score...at which time he will express his regular grave concern.

He's a tweener.  As a 260 DL and at 6'4", he would appear to ideally fit in the DL mold.  As a 260 OL who can bulk up to...what...275-280?, he does not readily fit the mold of the behemoths who made the Leopard offense go for much of this decade.  Now, I acknowledge that we are talking PL football here where you can get away with smaller or slower or...if you have other things going for you.  With no known rating I question what those "other things" might be (perhaps his height which might allow him to ultimately bulk into the Frank's Tanks [OL designation, not a slap at our old friend] range).  For now I'm calling him a body, one of the numbers, with a note to self to check back in the fall of 2012.

Go nuts though, guys.  As you know, ye and me are on different planets when it comes to recruiting.  While you say "Oh, joy," I frequently say Oh, crap."
