Olympic Trials Qualifier

Rising senior (and one of next season's captains) Greg Grewal is competing in the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Greensboro, NC this weekend.  In his preliminary 100 meter breaststroke race, he placed 1st with a time of 1:03.24, qualifying himself for the 2016 Olympic Trials.  I believe he's the first Lafayette swimmer ever to qualify for a US Olympic Trials, although Andrew Rutherfurd '92, swam in the Olympics for Hong Kong.

Tonight, he improved his time to 1:03.17, and won the event.

Even if it's not usually your thing, you might want to try to catch a swim meet this season to see a once in a generation (for Lafayette) swimming talent at Lafayette.

Very impressive. He should be commended for putting himself out there and the training and effort he needed to do. Amazing effort.
