As crazy as this sounds, we actually have a respectable chance to reach the final and host a game. Holy cross and bucknell as 8 and 7 seeds are very beneficial, and a possible game in round 2 vs bucknell could be at home if they beat navy.
I am still upset that army and lehigh are higher than us, but at least we avoid american. And, holy cross has a serious chance of beating american in round one. Same with bucknell at navy.
As for the pards, we lost to colgate by two and barely won at their place, so it will no doubt be close. I just hope the team is not dismayed that they have to go to hamilton and don't play hard. This is anyone's tourney. The only part that has me worried is that we have not won two in a row since january, and our shooting goes cold at the worst possible times.

And why did Army get seeded higher than us? We split head to head. What was the next tie breaker?
I read that Abdulah said the reg season was only seeding for the tournament. That's a disappointing statement. Aren't we playing for a regular season championship?

Since it was 3 way tie (Army, LC, BU), it went to the combined record against the teams within the tie. We split against both, but Army swept Bucknell, so the 3-1 record gives them the 5 seed.

I agree pard4. For as disappointing as the second half of the season was, we actually got a great draw. We can beat Colgate at their place and have demonstrated we can beat Navy at their place.
Quite honestly, with how this season has gone so far, Abdullah's comment doesn't bother me. This has been the weirdest season i have ever seen for the patriot League. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day. It wouldn't surprise me if HC ran the table (although unlikely, too slow at the guard positions). Home court means absolutely nothing.
I would say that the league is down this year but our Sagarin rankings is 21st, which I believe may be the highest ever (6 spots ahead of the Ivy League) and our RPI is 16th (9 spots ahead of the Ivy League). I think we are simply seeing the reality of all schools on a level playing field and the Academies re-emphasizing the importance of their basketball programs.
