Playoff seeding

If my calculations are correct, we are guaranteed a top 4 seed IF we win one of the two games this week AND if American loses to either Navy or Bucknell. Of course if we can with both games, we have home court for sure.
We beat both these teams on the road--no reason we can't finish the regular season with a bang.

It is complicated and my head explodes with all the tiebreakers. But I am assuming you are right and plan to attend not only the  last two games but the playoffs. I am hungry for a championship. So is the school…I hope!!

No.   LC is currently tied with Boston U for the 4th spot.  If LC wins one game this week and Boston U wins two, then Boston U would get the 4th seed - assuming that Lehigh holds onto the 3 seed.   LC does have the tiebreaker over Boston U, however, so if the two teams each split this week, then LC gets the 4 seed (as long as AU doesn't win two).

In the above scenario, two other teams (Navy and Loyola) could win two and create a tie with LC - but LC owns the tiebreaker over both of them.

If you want to shoot a little higher, LC is only one game behind Lehigh - and LC owns the tiebreaker in a two-way tie.   LU plays Bucknell and Colgate this week, so they may be challenged to win two.

137 is correct. I knew it seemed too simple. All the more reason to win two!

Bison137, I hate to say it but I'll be rooting for you this week!

It doesn't matter, cause, we are winning both games this week!

It still matters because a Bucknell win over LU would allow LC to pass LU for the 3rd seed.   Or would it bother you to see Lehigh finish behind Lafayette because it might hurt their feelings?   Smile

Of course that would break my heart!  Laughing  Wink and Stabler is such a tough place to play!

We, however, need to take care of our business, first.

Yes. 2,3, & 4 are all still possible. So are lower seeds if we don't get the job done at home.

Assume you mean LU to lose 2.   To get the 2 seed, you actually just need to have LC win two, have CU lose two (one of which is LC), and have LU lose to Bucknell.  Doesn't matter what Boston U does.  But if Lehigh beats Bucknell tonight, then LC can no longer get the 2 seed.

OTOH, I believe it is possible for LC to drop as low as an 8 seed.   The standings are that close.

Pretty much what John Leone says.
