Question for bison137

I'm hearing that Bucknell incoming basketball recruit Amy Zehner suffered a major knee injury while working out at BU. Can you confirm?

Sorry, I've got no good sources on women's hoops during the summer.    Hope it's not true but if you heard it, it may well be.    Like virtually every women's program, the Bison have had several ACL's and other knee injuries in recent years.

BU seems to have a good recruiting class coming in.   On paper it appears to be their best in quite awhile, assuming that half of them don't transfer out due to Fedorjaka.

Appears that Zehner did not have a major knee injury, as she is apparently practicing with the team.    However another BU incoming guard, Tara Wilk from Immaculate Heart in Bergen County, did have a serious knee injury and is going to miss at least part of the season.

I have never seen Wilk play, and I know she was not a big H.S. scorer - but she did make 1st team All-Bergen so I assume she is a capable PG.   BU has not had a good true PG in awhile.

Thank for the update. I got my information from a softball umpire who works a lot of games in Schuykill County. He heard it from another Zehner who played softball for Tamaqua.  Zehner is definitely a scorer and rebounder if she's allowed to play her game.

Zehner's line tonight against Youngstown State:  25 pts, 5 rebounds, 6 blocks, 4 assists, 3 steals,  and only 1 turnover.   Guess her knee is OK.

Despite that performance, BU lost by a point.    If the players were allowed to coach themselves, they'd probably win five or six more games than they will in the Fedorjaka system.

Bison137 - It appears that Zehner will be playing for DeSales College this coming season. They have a solid program and since she's playing down she will be able to play this year.
