On the  other hand I had dinner with a very very senior administrator from Villanova. The day after "the last four seconds" applicants who were already accepted confirmed their enrollment in record numbers. They are now wondering where they are going to put all the students. In the weeks following requests for applications or appointments for the class of 2021 are through the roof.
In addition, there was a 22,000,000 dollar donation plus the money from the NCAA of 10 plus million dollars!!

But suppose the film championship will get us at least that......right!!

There is so little oxygen left in this coal mine that this canary only has the strength to update REEL Bucknell.

Lafayette faced a similar challenge of where to house all the incoming students at the start of this year. Any signal if we're having similar challenges with next years class?

We shouldn't detract from the success of FAMS students. Question the allocation of resources by the College all you want, but IMHO we shouldn't be detracting from the successes/awards of Lafayette students.
Lafalum

Not detracting, but questioning the allocation of resources and what can bring the larger returns.

There were many reasons for housing issues , among them was the destruction of housing by the college in the closing of fraternities and the smaller number of study abroad students.

Nearly all of the "heavy hitters" in PA colleges participated at Bucknell.  I give credit where credit is due.  FAMS (Film and Media Studies) and its consequent creativity has its place, I think.  A win's a win.  (Lot of students out there are interested in this sort of stuff and could care less about FB, BB, and Lax.)

One of five films in its category selected to compete in 39th Denver Film Festival.  "Premier cultural event of the Fall in Denver with 57,000 attendees (2015)."  Lotta well-known Hollywood types have a connection with this festival.  "Spike Lee student short film award."  Think it includes grad students. Contestant has to present the film before the judges.

Arts matter too. I'm at the Morgan Library & Museum today to see the Memling exhibit and noticed that the FM Kirby Foundation is a donor. Well-done; the Morgan is fascinating, not too big; like the Frick, a small gem of the art world.
I took an art history course at Lafayette (I can't recall why, maybe a tactical move to avoid an 8 a.m. requirement) and it has stuck with me for 35 years. A life-changing move.

Bethpard: you are correct.  The Moran Library is a real gem as is the Frick Museum.  Must visit places for visitors to NYC.

sorry "Morgan"

The history of Morgan, his collecting mania and seeing his personal library and office make the place fascinating.
Today, we saw the Memling panels reunited, the Bronte exhibit is interesting and we'd seen "Rembrandt's First Masterpiece" earlier but it was worth a second look. Last day for that I think. Judas. Great piece.
The Frick is just spectacular. The interior courtyard is serene and the main exhibition room is staggering. What's the value of those works at auction? $2 billion, $3 billion, $4 billion or more? Incalculable. (Note I'm no expert just a fan. Sort of like my interest in football).
We also stopped by the Rubin on 17th Street today. Not my usual stuff but very interesting. Six floors of works from Tibet and that region.
A few years back, I'd promised to take my wife to the "Girl With Pearl Earring" Vermeer exhibit that took advantage of the movie's popularity. Day of the Fordham game.
Pards Rule needed tickets, I sent mine, and missed the great upset.
On the other hand with only 40 or so authenticated Vermeers in the world, not a terrible move.
On the Princeton.
