After a long and storied career Ann retires with the most wins of any coach in Lafayette history and second only to Charlie Gelbert in single sport wins. What do you think the college should do to honor this future hall of fame coach!!!
We again will be looking for a new coach in a women's program what will we need to do restore this program to dominate the Patriot League once again? American has been the top team for the last three years and a top 10 program in the country. What qualities do we need what resources do we need to catch them? We have scholarships now...what else is needed?
What qualities and backround are needed to energize this program?
I would reallly like to see us get a coach from a quality program....like our find in women's soccer. Please no division 3 coaches, no ex volunteers coaches at moribund programs. Lets go for quality and give that person the resources and assistance to succeed.

I've been around a lot of coaches and Ann Gold is unique. Certainly not a motivator, a solid but unspectacular practice, game coach---but somehow put together a long string of success before the last few years. She had a tremendous eye for talent and recruited very well. She found a way to get her best people in a position to get the job done. She leaves with a great legacy.
I wonder if she made it clear to recruits that she may be retiring...
