Rocky Mountain High

Play of our Colorado boys had me groping for some John Denver lyrics on the ride home:

......la, la, la, coming home to a place he'd never been before, la, la la...

Rocco's big 4th down catch, playing possession ball late with the lead, had Frank about as animated (in a positive way) as I've seen him in years.

Man, Collin was zeroed in on that QB and showed speed I didnt know he had on the sack. Good all around game by the captain.

La, la, la, Quiet solitude, the forest and the streams, blah, blah, blah.....

Drew, DR, the Doctor, way to frickin battle, dude!  Some pin point throws last night. I mean right there. Joey isn't the biggest target and he's flyin and DR hit him chest high. Battled through a rough couple of series where protection failed him and prevailed. High escapability last night, too.  But mainly to me it was the determination and will he showed to get it done that left me very impressed. Good decisions, good vision.  Stepping into the throws, follow through, accuracy. ( Could say the Doctor was operating with surgical precision, but I won't.) Seriously good effort.

D - Brandon and the guys minimized the damage while the O struggled. Those were young pups making those INTs.  Recall the hard hit by Avent to cause a fumble. A nice play by TJ fighting off a block and minimizing a potential big gainer in open field. Looking for this young man to come into hisnown as he gains confidence.  Not sure we got the pressure we wanted from the front four, they ran 4 wide and we didnt blitz much. Good job mucking up the middle, especially early, containing the run game. Labudev moving around like his freshman year. Their excellent RB didnt need much space to be effective. Good player.  Phil was all over that WR on the TD with nice, tight coverage. The guy kinda grabbed him a bit right at the end. No shame. Good game, defense!!

Young guns: YT, CJ. Look out!!! Emerging.

Mrazek -  rocked Yankee Stadium with the big grab and then hurt last year. If the league somehow wasn't on to him, with last night's tape they are now. Great hands, body control on the sideline. Coach Ferguson lit!

OL - "who's on first" routine. RT playing LT, RG plaing C, new guy at RG, back up C at RT, that kind of thing.  All jumbled up, focused on assignments, and yet no pre-snaps. Nice!  Some missed assignments, sure, some missed blocks on runs, yup, but give that D some credit, some talented players over there. Grateful to have a versatile Donnelly while Nick heals and beyond, wherever Mike's needed apparently. Good job.

La, la, lost a friend but kept a memory, blah, blah

Joey- impact player coming into his own, eye catching quickness.

Kicking game: dont know if one could ask for more as 14 dropped em inside the 10. Get those cover guys to sprint to the goal line and look up. Forrester had good height, giving them time to get there and set up.  Bissell - IDK, one exchange was a bit screwed up. Strong on KOs. I' not worried about him.

Good game, Mike Root!

Lot's of frosh in there. KHutch and Pearson on STs. Hutch first man down the field taking on the blocker. Kid can run!  Mitchell and Tre on the field, too.

Thanks for a fun night, Leopards!

La, la, la I've seen it raining fire in the sky, la, la, la

Enough with the John Denver already.

Hey, we "got" streams in Jersey. Musconetcong, baby!

John Denver? That's not even his real name. You're a lot older than I thought you were.

I've got a freebie Army ticket for you if you buy at The Park Rest.  I know the 50s decor makes you comfortable...

We'll throw home town boy, Finnen's name around. Score some extra pickles for the burgers...

Great recap Andy! I commented early on (tuning in late) that the Memphis Miracle (Reed) was looking quite crisp with his throws. We HAVE to get a ground game started earlier, particularly with Delaware, Nova and Princeton coming up. I understand this is a function of a makeshift O-line but that is an obvious critical component. God, I wish we still had #29!

Andy,

That's awesome.. So exciting... What we the fans thought was a little lull, when CCSU tied it up was just a small thing to the team..
The team showed us that this is 2016 .. And the only game that matters is September 10th ... the blue chickens...

Andy you know I come to you for the history....  Have we ever shut out Delaware.

Yes, we shut them out in '14. Unfortunately 1914. And 3 other times, the last being a 3-0 butt kicking in 1960.  They returned the favor 2 years later 61-0.

We're overdue.  Let's Go!

Well, we will see.. The Blue Hens will go down Sept. 10th

GOOOOOO PARDSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
Andy

Highlights include a nice tight shot of BB hit, causing fumble and Mrazek work.

Andy what was the last time BEFORE the playoff game I saw in Nov. 2004 that we faced Delaware??
