It's a shame she's left the program.  Going somewhere in Texas.  Just the latest to leave since Varner arrived.  After 7 girls left this past year, plus the coach 'dismissed' 2 everyday starters...somebody needs to look into WHY!

Perhaps she wanted to continue her playing career or is following a husband or partner??

Varner brought her in. I don't think anyone had the expectation that she would remain here for more than a year or two. We are not a big time program. This will be Varner's first class, lets see how good he recruited. Hopefully, his recruits will approach the game like its important to win and not like its a intramural event. If players refuse to workout in the off season or refuse to communicate with the pitching coach, they should be cut.

Temple just dropped its softball program.

Perhaps there are some pick-ups available.  Then again, I don't recall Temple being all that good.  Head Coach Joe DiPietro was 145-153 in his six seasons in North Philly.  They crushed us twice last season, though . . .

I could be wrong but I thought we won one games against them. They had a great coach in DiPietro.  I believe he was, at one time, the winningest high school coach in New Jersey. I'm sure we can't afford him but he would be a good assistant coach for a rebuilding team.

Xbo, Temple beat us 4-0 and 10-1 last season, both games at home.  We split two games at Temple in 2013, got killed twice in 2012 and got trounced in a single game in a Florida tourney in 2011.
