Scrimmage @ St. John's

Does anybody have a report?  Someone on laxpower said it was tied 5-5 at the half . . . .

I heard the final was 8-7 or 8-6 Pards.  Apparently a very sloppy game by both teams.  Pards were perhaps a little overconfident after their showing at Princeton and certainly didn't bring their A game.

If the over confident comment is a correct read that's pretty disappointing given the way the team ended last season.   Not a good personality trait to take on.

Last season - I'm not so sure its was as much overconfidence as it was the team all of a sudden started to be taken very seriously.

Agreed - two very different things.   Learning how to win with a target on your back based on your decent record and prior ranking is something you can often overcome with experience.

Overconfidence should not be an issue on Saturday vs. Fairfield.  FU was ranked slightly ahead of LAF in the Inside Lacrosse Pre-Season rankings which we can only hope will give the Pard some extra intensity and focus.  Fairfield was apparently very pissed about losing convincingly to Lafayette last year and is looking for pay-back - and the Pards know it.  I expect both teams to bring it.  Should be a very good game.

Cloudy, mid-40s Saturday.  When I drove by Metzgar last week the parking lot and Rappolt field were completely covered with thick ice/snow.  I'm assuming, of course, that *someone* has this under control!
