Season begins tonight for Olympic sportsFH opens tonight with a contest ag Rutgers. Rutgers is 2-0 this will be our opening game. Having scored two 6-1 victories in preseason games it looks like the new caoch has found a way to get the ball in the net. However our goal tender will be tested...a real concern last year. I hope we can keep the ball in our offensive side of the field.
Go Pards!!

Well, there's a lot of work to be done. The Leopards gave up a penalty shot goal in the first 3 minutes of the game and were unable to get the ball into the offensive end for most of the first 20 minutes. They did get a goal to tie it at one on a deflection. I didn't see who scored it and there was no PA system after the introductions. They did control the last 12-15 minutes of the first half and went up 2-1 on some nice stickwork by Condon in front of the goal.
Rutgers scored the tying goal 5 minutes into the second half and the Pards could not get the ball out of their end the entire second half. I don't think we even had a shot on goal in the second half. Rutgers scored the winner with 30 seconds left in the game.

Thanks Rock--you are a great source. Judging solely by the boxscore it looks like an improvement over last year--but I know nothing about how Rutgers is compared to last season.
Fabian's the only senior starter---Here's hoping this team will find it's groove in a couple weeks. I look forward to seeing them in action on Sunday.

We were playing our nbr 3 goalie who was seeing her first college action as a senior. The other two goalies were injured (stress fracture and broken bone in the hand) according to people on the sidelines, which may have meant leaving more people on the defensive side. All that being said as the game wore on we seemed to be reluctant to counter attack and we had trouble breaking the Rutgers zone and the double teaming of our mid fielders.
I did see improvement in ball movement but they will need time in learning to work together as they attempt to play a more up tempo game.
There are lots of undersclassman on this team. I saw several freshman getting lots of minutes as well. Condon (junior) scored both goals and she is a player.
This team will improve, this was a winable game.
Next up soccer!!!
