I heard from a person in attendance at the field hockey game on Wed night that two parents cars were broken into by smashing in their side windows and stealing valuables. This apparently is not a isolated incident. Several of our students cars had similar breakins during the past year. There were no campus or forks township police in attendance. President Weis, the AD, and Krivoski have been written to regarding the situation. Perhaps its time for cameras in that lot, and a campus security person in attendence during practices and games. Health and Safety must come first..... before any other expense at the college.
We should not wait until something more serious occurs. To date there has been not been a substative response from the administration aside from the "we are studying the situation"

I was at the game and left as soon as it was over. I was parked about halfway down the lot (past the WC bus) and did not notice anything when I left. I was surprised at how many cars were in the lot when I got there compared to how many people were in the stands. I concluded that the players must have all driven their own cars to the game. Was there another group there?
As far as having the Forks police there, they are there for almost every event. However if they are going to park next to the stands and watch the game, which they do for every event I've seen, they are not going to prevent anything in the parking lot. At least they finally have the lights on in the lot, which doesn't amount to much.
