This is more of a cynical question than anything... (which I find myself becoming more increasingly towards this administration, even though I'm not cynical)...
Although I know our funds are to help the students, our money is handled by the administration and their dubious policies... especially with regard to athletics and the supposed indirect siphoning of athletic funds back into the General.
Would this be the only way to get some progressive and common sense policies, and better trustee management?

The college administration, like our dumbheads in Washington DC, is a steamroller with tremendous inertia. It will take considerable obstruction to slow it down or make it swerve........will only happen if a LOT of cries of outrage and dismay are registered....They see themselves as on a righteous mission.
The recent Tea Parties prove this point....nothing has changed.
Cut off the funds and they may listen, but it would require many many people to make it happen.
I have the ability to make a considerable bequest....but (athletic aid aside) the College's increasing tendency to punish those parents who have worked to be able to afford to pay for a quality education by redirecting a portion of their tuition payments to others as aid has me thinking that my kids will make better use of the money......
I support a strong athletic program as it provides for many alumns a continuing connection to the college, and a strong program instills a pride and nostalgia that I think fosters giving....try to explain that to the powers.
