Trust me, they weren't playing Va Tech and Maryland. Who is the genius who made this schedule? Good way to build confidence in your young pitchers.  Sports that are neglected by the college and left to flounder w/out scholarships (or aggressive need-based aid) in a scholarship league should be ignored on this board. We have one opponent in common with BU -Coastal- we both lost.

Agree, not fair to the kids to schedule VA Tech and MD.  We all know the mentality of an athlete.  These ladies get recruited to Lafayette knowing the program isn't great, but they all come in and think their class will be the one to turn it all around.  They should think that way, but have virtually no chance to compete.  I feel for the kids- 8 runs in 15 games..ouch.

Well I have now seen them play on a couple of occasions and it is too bad.  There is some talent there but they lack some basic principles of the game.  They missed the cutoffs in every game I witnessed and therefore cost them runs each and every time as the opposing team put runners in scoring position.  They had their best hitters in the 1 and 2 position without giving their speed players a chance to lead off.  I saw several base running blunders.  It goes on but it appears the new coach may be in over his head and he relies on an assistant coach with one year of coaching experience, last year with him.  This game is learned over years not in one season of coaching and the way they are headed it will be a long season and maybe a short career.

I wish them luck as the kids really look to be trying and want to produce and the young ones show some fire.  But they also face the lack of schollies that has been discussed on this board often.

The kids haven't been able to compete against one northern team who has faced the same weather conditions.  Not one team from north of Maryland. Bucknell has played more games vs northern teams than our kids have played total.  Whoever put this schedule together is clueless and did a disservice to the program.  Without funding it's all moot anyway.

Edit: correction LC played one game vs CCSU.

If you want to be the best, you have to play the best.  This year is like starting a new program, out with the old, in with the new. It will take at least 3 more years to determine if we have the right coaches and players in place.

I agree with XBO.  Let this coach alone for four years of his recruits and see how he does.

Each coach is responsible for setting up their schedule! Unfortunate he didn't have them playing every day on spring break.  Poor planning.
