ST. PETERS

Today's game will be a better yardstick against which to measure this year's team. We have competed well in the past against St. Peter's. GW was Christians and lions.

Lindner is going to have to carry us until our youngins get into the flow. I hope they are fast learners.
Home opener and raising the championship banner! Very Happy

Nice comeback win in OT ! What's up with our 2 freshman from tx Austin and  Dunkum?

After blowing a 17 point lead by poor execution and lack of intensity on both ends of the floor, we miraculously found a way to win this game. The game showed our strengths on offense (guard play and foul shooting) and our enormous weaknesses on defense (rebounding and positioning).  Our bigs are much better than one would expect from just reading the statistics. As seniors, Nate and Ben, should have seen the court more often than they have over the past three years. They are both still learning the college game. We'll see whether they develop more of an understanding of the need to position themselves better on defense so they can rebound the ball and avoid easy put backs. They certainly aren't going to get help from the coaching staff that hasn't let them on the court before this year.

Bill, Dunkum is from Arkansas, he has yet to practice with the team. Leg injury? Not sure.

I believe Evans played a few mins in the opener. We didnt get to watch him today.

Zalys and our other fr from Texas, Tyler Barlow, were contributors today.  Zalys hit a pair of shots (3s?) and Barlow showed some shot blocking ability down low.

We did not deserve to win, blowing the large first half lead and being down 9 in OT. You have to give the kids credit for not giving up and pulling this one out. It will go a long way in the confidence department for the young guys.

Not sure what is going on with the officiating. There are some rule changes but there were tons of calls against us.

Dunkum in street clothes. Evans saw no minutes.

Zalys and Barlow look like they are going to be players. They looked a little timid at times, but, that should change with more PT and confidence.
