The AU Transfers

AU has 3 players who lead the league in minutes played. Hopefully the FOH substitution/rotations will wear them down. Keep up the momentum and defend the home court.

A review of the statistical comparison shows that we should win. This is another game that can be lost but should be won.Lafayette has a slight statistical edge in almost every category. Our offense is vastly superior but their defense is 20 points a game better.

Video on site with O'Conner gives some good insights into reasons for AU stats.   Curious to see if early we try to force inside to get fouls and try to expose lack of depth, or if Linder tries to take Pee Wee inside with same idea.   Not likely to be our preferred up and down kind of game.

The play the Princeton offense which FOH know inside and out from his U of P days. Possessions will be limited. Our defensive patience and commitment will be tested.

Pards up 10-5 in the early minutes.  Looking sharp so far.

One big factor in their defensive stats is the fact that they play at the slowest pace in the nation.   In that category, they are ranked #351 (out of 351).   Their defense is good but not nearly as good as raw stats make it look.  Kind of like when Princeton used to play so-so defense and "lead" the nation every year in the irrelevant stat of points given up per game.

Forget the playing sharp comment.  Shooting is poor.

Down by 7 at the half.

seth   enough with the 3's  how bout some inside presence like the old days
2012Pard

Well, that sure was a hell of a game.

Maybe a little payback for the Mower 3 a few years back.

I can always count on Bison to say something AU's doing, done or will do isn't as good as you think. Just like when you said you didn't think PeeWee Gardner could be all that good since he got beat out at Stephen F. Austin. Or that AU wouldn't win more than eight games last season. How's PeeWee looking these days?

Be careful what you ask for, I guess. These guys were worse. We battled all day against another dose of unexplainable poor officiating. I am totally dumbfounded. The lack of consistency and incompetence is demoralizing, and I'm not a player.
So much for those who insist you have to out rebound yr opponent. We had ten more than AU and a bunch of put backs. Our shooting seems to be a tad off right now. We just are not stroking it like we were earlier in the season.
No respect for the AU coach who spent more time bitching at the officials than he did coaching. He's now, for me, the biggest coaching @#ole in the PL!
Knew 0 was taking the last shot. His chest thumping in front of our bench, which he had to run the length of the floor to get to, was totally, totally classless.
I hope we can return the favor, preferably by knocking them out of the PL tourney.

The call that took the cake was Dan's 2nd called with .03 secs left in the half, 6-9 Trist rebounding against 5-7 PeeWee. That particular ref is clueless.  Went into half with 2 fouls on 3 players. AU had 4 team fouls at that point , no player with more than 1.

AU recap says PeeWee played "near perfect" game, fails to mention technical with about 2 mins left in a tight game.

AU with 5 international players, 4 transfers. About right for an Au roster.

Pards get credit for battling to tie.  Too many missed shots around the basket and untimely turnovers were killer.
