Lafalum

This has been the year of "almost not quite"

Teams that went to the PL finals or were in the hunt  for much of the season or in first place.
M Soccer
FIeld Hockey
M/W Basketball
Softball
Football
There we some individual good performances on the track team.
It meant there were big games and some good effort. I am looking forward to M Soccer, Field Hockey,Softball and Baseball coming back with experience, and out of that group at least two PL championships next year.
Football is always interesting but our losses in the offensive line makes me nervous. Basketball is blank slate but with very strong classes coming in. I was impressed with men's lacrosse as they stayed with some of the stronger teams in a very strong league.
Women's lacrosse stands out as needing some intervention.

I am delighted with the facilities improvements at Metzger which will pay dividends in the near future.
All in all an acceptable year!!
Andy

It was also a highly successful season vs our arch-rival.  Per the Lafayette-Lehigh page on LU's website where they keep track of such things: Lafayette men won the series (9-6) for only the second time in 42 years. The women also won (11-9) to lead 13-10 all-time.  Nice!

Yeah, lacrosse is the glaring weakness in our program. Coach Mangan has never beaten Lehigh and is 4-33 vs the PL. Lafalum's observation of the team's improvement is encouraging.

On the other hand, Lafalum's assessment of the womens' program is disheartening.  Are there any promising young players? The following list includes a much higher percentage of early period signings than we've seen in recent years:
