Most interesting was a 191,000 dollar payment to Celestino Limas after he was fired.

For those wondering, FOH was 6th with total compensation of $313k.
BackintheDay

These little tidbits should do wonders for the capital campaign - this is how the college spends its budget?????  And they cry for how they need more?

Maybe the payment was for him to go back to school - the guy could not write a grammatically complete sentence or speak without saying, yeah, every fifth word.  Nice pick there Dan!

Looking back, I think that payment is for college housing for a year after being let go.  He taught a sign language course.

Yep, that's the going rate I'm afraid.  Base is $212 I think...

Tavani doesn't crack the Top 10.

At this level, I think it's somewhat above the going rate - but then he has a lot of seniority.   I believe he is 3rd of the 10 PL coaches, behind only DeChellis and Milan Brown, in total compensation.    He would be mid-range in the MAAC and at or near the top of the NEC and America East.

He got a large bump during the scholarship debate. He had several offers ( LaSalle was probably the most attractive) and Rothkopf didn't want to lose him while that debate was going on. Certainly now his replacement cost would be at least what he is getting now!! If not more!

Whether a replacement would cost more depends on what LC was looking for.   As mentioned, most coaches at this level make less.   Dave Paulsen makes less, Brett Reid makes less.   The coaches at American, Army, Loyola, American, and probably Boston u make less.     Most NEC head coaches make less than $150K.  Etc.

An shameless adminstrators like Dan Weiss say "A quality education has a price tag".  Yes, Dan, the price tag is the next financial crisis - the student loan bubble.  Stop the madness.  Costs can't keep going up like they have at LC and everywhere else.  Get real people.

Agreed but parents like lemmings will follow the golden sunrise - oh, my kid in Lafayette! He/she will do great and be a multi-millionaire! Better rethink that! But BackintheDay, they WILL continue to go up as there is a supply/demand imbalance at work - see my first line here. Sad but true.
NewXbo
