Did I hear correctly that the home game next week against Bucknell will NOT be on LSN? I must admit I was walking back into the room when I heard them talking about next week' game so I may have heard incorrectly.   What is going on with our tv games this year?

Yes, according to goleopards.com next week's game is on American Sports Network

Apparently it's an "American Sports Network" exclusive.  I guess that means no Laubach/Joseph once again.  The (badly over-modulated) radio announcer for Holy Cross knew nothing about the Leopards.  It was a bit painful.

I'm guessing the game will be streamed but possibly not on RCN or Channel 60.

Laubach and Joseph always have a good handle on the opposing team, its players, coaches and schemes.  I have no idea what's going on with that.

A list of clearances (stations on your cable system carrying the game) will be released mid-week.

You seem to be in the know, acds2.  Will the game be streamed?  Why are we being denied the excellent services of Messrs. Laubach and Joseph?

Yes, ASN games are also streamed on PLN since ASN does not offer complete coverage and some affiliates do not show the game live.

Here is an example of what ASN channel lists look like http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schoo...-15/misc_event/asn-clearances.pdf

To your second question, the Patriot League office has entered into relationships with CBS, ASN and Campus Insiders to handle a certain percentage of athletic contests each season.  CBS gets first choice, followed by ASN. CI handles a handful of games each year.

If I were the PL, I would try to hand off as little Lafayette content as possible as they obviously have the most professionally produced product.

If not for the Lafayette Sports Network, there would be no Patriot League Network.  Over the years Lafayette got a ton of games on espn3 because of the quality of the LSN production.  We should have an opt-out or insist that ASN and CI use our production and booth talent.

I would guess the ASN-produced Bucknell game would be shown at a minimum on over-the-air subchannels in the Philadelphia and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre TV markets, and probably the Harrisburg/Lancaster/York TV market, so it will get broader TV distribution than the RCN Cable/Channel 60, LSN-produced broadcasts.  (I would expect other ASN "affiliiates" to also pick up the game, though possibly not the New York affiliate because there be a Cornell/Princeton game produced and televised by ASN at the same time as Bucknell/Lafayette.)

You can get a sense of what ASN games will be televised in what areas and on what channels by going to the following link and inputting your zip code - http://americansportsnet.com/schedule/. For example, where my parents live (Bath, PA zip code - 18014), it appears the Bucknell/Lafayette game will be shown on the Comcast Network (i.e. the network formerly known as CN8).

Like the Holy Cross game, streaming will be provided through the Patriot League website; it WON'T be provided through ESPN3.

ASN broadcast yesterday's Harvard - Princeton game and it was on Comcast and Fios on the cable channels' sports channel which is TCN .They advertised our game next week.
