vs. Navy

Tuesday March 10 at 7:30 PM.  Navy is 3-3, with four of their six games against top 20 teams.

If it's competitive as it was at Colgate and vs. Penn, I'll be satisfied.  But perhaps time to rethink the whole thing if it's a blowout like Army.  Still can't win faceoffs, maintain possession or hang onto the ball.

Brady Dove is a VERY good FO guy for the Middies - on 2nd team PL last year as a frosh.   Winning over 60% this year - will be a tough battle for whoever we are tossing out there tonight.  But if we keep the turnovers down, continue to play some D, and get a few timely goals - who knows....

I'm sure this has been suggested before:  Why can't the team that's been scored upon automatically get the ball (much like basketball)?  No face-off.
11-0   yuck

Navy now up 14-1 at the half.

It's time to . . . .

Halftime -

Shots:  28-6

Faceoffs:  13-4

16-4 at the end of the 3rd.  It's not getting any better.

Four minutes left in the game.  Navy has their bench in and they're completely laying off on the transition - but we still can't get it done.  I'm very sad.

Final:  Navy 18, Lafayette 4.  Inexcusable.

Where is this program heading?  Jim Rogalski, is this what you're aiming for?  The leash is getting choked up be the week, I'd imagine.

Let's just face it... We don't have a FOGO... The defense gave up in the 1st quarter... Also i would have replaced Cortese after he let in 7 straight goals

Our last legitimate FOGO was Cesar Munoz.  Dude was built for the job and he did it very well.  Nobody thought to replace him since, it seems.  Frosh goalies get a pass, for now, but it had better improve quickly.  The D poles remain an irreparable nightmare, I'm afraid.

We had a 2man up and #9 threw the ball away.. That is a back breaker..he should be replaced on EMO

Uh-huh . . . I saw that one.  But I think the back already was broken.  I'm not going to panic just yet, but if this crap continues the program in going to need a top-to bottom overhaul.  Coaches and players alike.  All of them.

Our college has been playing lacrosse for more than a hundred years.  We're not new at the game.  Why even do we find ourselves in this position?  MLax has become the least competitive sport on College Hill.  And that's a damn shame.

They're worse, actually.  But the WLax team already has been torn down and started anew.  It's all freshman and sophomores at this point and they're figuring it out.  They miss Ana White more than I imagined but at least she's on the coaching staff now!

Bogus I totally agree with you... 1st and 2nd year programs are more competitive then we are... Our Dpoles wouldn't start for D3 schools... I'm very frustrated

We need big, strong athletes.  Not finesse guys who might have out run the attack in high school.  Linebacker and Tight End types.  Size, strength, agility and athleticism make all the difference at this level.

And for chrissake, hang on to the friggin' ball!

Maybe invest a bigger percentage of the three scholarships we get in a FO guy and a middie or two that Bogie describes.  Not speaking from any specific knowledge but give a stud FOGO a 50% or more ride and see if it makes a difference.  Its one position where finding the right kid can be a rapid game changer.

Cesar was the best we have had in recent memory. But, if I recall, he started off that year VERY hot and our rankings rose, his last half of year was not nearly as effective and we barely hung on to make the PL playoff.
