I didn't think they'd be here, but tonight we can put it all together and head to the big dance. Even though I have been around sports for a long time I'm only starting to realize just how precious championship opportunities are. I couple of the very best athletes I know have never one championships---in high school or college. One claimed even in youth leagues (which is hard to believe, I don't think this person would like me to name-drop but she's definitely a recognizable Lafayette name).
A week ago I said Tammy could never get it done....Tonight she can prove me wrong. She wouldn't be the first. For the life of me I can't figure out how this team lost 20+ games....but it doesn't matter now, not tonight.
What must be maddening about playing this team from an opponents perspective is their complete lack of short-term memory and their almost swagger-like confidence. I could point out a million flaws with this team, but so could American and Navy. Lehigh is head and shoulders the best team in the league, but if they aren't the best team on the floor tonight (and we DID beat them twice last year) than it doesn't matter.
In what is turning out to be a disappointing year across the board for leopard athletics, this would be one hell of a tone changer.
Game plan? Forget it. We don't have an identity...and that's what's making us a PITA in this tournament.
I really thought we'd win it last year. That's what makes me insane. 6-8 in the league and plenty of weaknesses and I really thought they'd pull it off. This year I gave us NO chance....I don't get it at all...But it doesn't matter.
One game...One great game and this team most of us wrote off becomes one of the great stories in the very long history of the school.
Get it done 'Pards!

Win or lose, Tammy's back - unless she decides that she's had enough.

Oh she's back. Maybe she'll actually get this program into a winner and it'll be a Lifetime movie or something....
