This excerpt is from Paul R's most recent article in the Morning Call. Remember all of our pre-season complaining and hand-wringing over the attrition the team suffered? Some of us who shall remain nameless but whose name rhymes with "Balarney" were convinced it was due to Frank and his hard driving ways. Incidentally a major theme of this article is how Frank acctually dances with the players post victory in the locker room. Not exactly Bear Bryant-esque. I would love to know who who you are referring to in the highlighted section above, but it is no matter I guess. In any event, I plan to revisit the retention problem in the off season.
And, does this really "put a different spin" on things? A 25+% defection rate - including some decent players and potential contributors - is a startling and troubling statistic that cannot simply be swept away by a comment in a newspaper article or discounted because the team happens to be winning this year. There are some serious implications for the future here.

The offseason might be a better time to address said "problem" as we're all too enthralled with the current "magical season" to pay much attention to it now. It'd be like Al Gore telling me about the dangers of global warming as I was bringing in my porch furniture last week in mid-October white out conditions. Timing is everything.

Global warming is a misleading and wrongly dubbed term... it should be severe climate gyrations or extreme climate conditions or something like that.

Ha... truth be told the climate was very unstable until about 10,000 years ago. A stable climate led to our shift from nomads to an agrarian society.

Nah...that's a locker room thing. I doubt we'll ever see it. The legend will grow though.
