What in the world just happened?

Very Happy It has been about a week since bu put us out of our misery and I am still asking (about the whole season) what in the world just happened?   By anyones expectations for this season it was a great disappointment.    So I ask you guys, what do you think?  You see, I do not believe those who are always negative.  We are too this or that,  not big, quick, athletic (code work for black) enough and all of that.  Dont buy it that FOH cant recruit or coach.  So what happened this year?  Here is a short list and I am sure I will leave some out and hope not to offend anyone.  Yes, injuries did hurt and maybe we never fully recovered from them,  Not having a Sr. stud to lean on when things got tough,  the inability to consistently play good defense,  constantly changing line ups,  playing freshmen too early and too often, and way too frequent subbing (offense for defense).  This is probably way too simplistic of an explanation but it is a start.  I do believe we have a very good core group coming back and believe this year the parts were greater that the whole.  So I ask you,  What in the world just happened?  GO PARDS!!!

We weren't good enough and everything Grandpa tom said. Maybe that was too glib but it's all I can think of except when I look at AU, Boston and even HC, they were all much more athletic.

All of the above, plus lack of [fill in the blank].  Hinrichs goes down and we lose 11 straight, including a loss to every Patriot League team - Navy, Colgate, Loyola - ALL of them.  I say again, this ain't the ACC, folks.  What - did Fran recruit Hinrichs and then go to the intramural league for the rest of his roster?  Someone - a lot of someones - didn't put out, didn't give it their all, didn't make it happen.  A team picked to finish number 2 should not, can not, lose to everyone in THIS League.  A total failure between the ears and everyone from the starting 5 through the guy who blows up the balls should be looking in the mirror.

No senior leadership. Not a knock on the 2 guys but they were just not part of the equation. This junior class has a lot of talent and when they get things clicking it's a thing of beauty. I may be wrong but you just watch what senior sense of urgency does next year with this class.

I'm not buying the senior leadership excuse for this team.  The juniors, and even a sophomore or two, were VERY experienced and didn't need anyone to guide them.  Fourth year leadership can be overrated.  In this case it is.  As for your hi-lited comment, I couldn't agree more.  I expect this team to come out in November with fire in their eyes and a feeling of starvation in their bellies to "show everyone" after earning F grades for 2013-2014.

You are correct. Senior leadership is not the correct term. Maybe senior presence is the term I was going for. There was none on the floor this year.
Next year's seniors plus those upcoming sophmores will be something. If everyone can stay healthy! PLEASE!

Robert Morris, who most of us went "Huh?!!" when they beat us in Easton back in November, finished 21-13 and won the NEC regular season championship.  They were, however, bumped out of the NCAA Tournament last night when they lost the championship game to Mt. Saint Mary's (16-16).  RMU now moves on to the NIT.  You may remember that they beat Kentucky in last year's NIT.
