What is going on?

This team seems to have fallen apart and given up.  It makes me think that the Coach is the problem given the record in the month of Feb.

Another loss today to Boston, 56-49. The team has now lost 6 of the last 7. Doesn't look like Homan or O'Hare played???

Homan and O'Hare had the flu.  Lutz did too, but played.

Winnable game, we shoot  4 of 14 from the foul line in the 2nd half.

I have watched almost all of the women's games. I have not been a fan of Diane Nolan even though FOH thought she was a great addition. Even though Homan ,O'hare and Ptasinski didn't play the team looked like Tammy Smith was still the coach. This has been going on for 6 weeks even when we had a full complement of players. We have lost 6 out of seven and are plummeting to the bottom of the league. Before yesterday BU had only 1 league win and was 2-18 overall.Yesterday we lost to BU's underclass players. Their numbnut announcer made constant reference to the absence of two of their best players - one to injury and one to illness.Of course that was when we had the big lead. From the point where we established the big lead they outscored us by 25 points. Even so we were still in the game and could have won.We had so many turnovers I was surprised the scorer could keep track. The turnovers were from bad play rather than unfamiliarity between the players.Opportunity after opportunity was wasted in the most godawful fashion.BU was hardly better . They didn't win - we lost. Our shooting was indescribably dismal as was our foul shooting. The team was a rudderless ship without a captain. To lose to a 2 win team is a disgrace regardless of the circumstances.

Illnesses aside, the coach continues to have a dismal record in February.  She is no spring chicken - it is possible that the game has passed her by, and it seems like she is being out coached later in the season.

I went into this season feeling extremely optimistic about things pertaining to WBB.  I won't let THAT happen again.

I have to say - it being Nolan's 5th season it's definitely time to let the Tammy analogies go. Right now I'm seeing us with better players winning a few more games, but I don't see any coaching clinic going on out there. Overall recruiting has been less then spectacular - and inconsistent. For instance Freeland went from being a promising starter as a freshman to a garbage-time player - did the offense change? She fit in with the high-tempo, pressure defense team that Nolan seemed to envision.

Although it's probably good that Freeland isn't playing more because lord knows the other seniors certainly are and we have little reason to think we can get to double-digit wins next year. THIS IS THE YEAR - this is as good as we're going to be for at least two seasons...Getting outclassed by the leagues best team in a rebuilding year is one thing, we're getting our butts kicked at our peak.

That looked like an exhibition game today.
