Who has to go?

Losing season six is in the books. There might not be a win left.
Something has to change. Who has to go?
With about a quarter million per game in aid on the field, something has to improve.

Frank's a man, he stands there and takes it. Mrazek is done for the year.
I have a ton of respect and gratitude for Frank.
I know a guy who knows Frank from his Chambersburg Cardinal days and he always says FT is as tough as they come.
He seems calm in this interview. I wonder if he's already planning to leave.

Football has always been good when people keep their hands off the program. Injuries have obviously derailed the year. A lot of good young players, and a really, really good class coming in next year.

Well, I hope you are right, But we've been hearing this every year since scholarships were implemented. So far there has been no proof that it's working.

I thought we were 8-4 in our league with a championship over the last 2 years.  If it's not working for us, how badly must the rest of the league be doing?

I do.  Too much beer to kill the pain.

You are what your record states you are.   Parse it anyway you want but we have a consistently losing  program.   I agree that Frank is a stand up guy and a good man.  But his chosen profession is a harsh one.  It is measured on wins and losses.   They tell a story that is not good.   By now he would have been fired at most, if not all, other programs in the PL.

As to the injuries, I think that if Frank had produced some winning records over the last few years he would get a ton of slack.  But he hasn't.   Again, a harsh profession but one the parameters of are well known to those who choose it.

Head Coach "emeritus," kind of like Joe Pa was for about a dozen years?  It saves face.

The team won the league two years ago. I can't imagine a player on that team trading in their rings for a winning season overall, when they lost once in league and beat Fordham in the process.

The former president did everything in his power to crush football because he didn't like them having success over his " vision" for the college. Again, I don't know why that is so hard to grasp.

I very much concur with Zeus on the above.  And I would add that there is a cabal of board members who are to blame as well.  Then there is another group of board members who don't care a whit about athletics.

That webcast the other night was all about "who is your favorite professor". As an athlete, who cares? You spend so much time with football or any other sport. who has time to get to know a professor?. One day as an alumni is that who you will remember? A professor?  My son is in engineering. His favorite professor is whoever helps him get a passing grade in a borderline class. Who has time for any more? Some of the professors barely speak English and only seem to have office hours during practice. I don't think the administration understands the difference between athletes and regular students. I walked past Bruce tonight and he tried to say something to me and I simply said I didn't want to hear it.

I agree about the past President.  But at what point are we moving on?  When does the shelf life on that excuse expire?   I disagree with dumbing down success to say a losing record is ok as long as we win the PL.  Honestly, it was a bit of an embarrassment to the league to have a team with a losing record representing it in the FCS.

Hey guys its the whole athletic program. Its a disaster from top to bottom. So start at the top, bring in a competent AD. If he's competent he will negotiate an environment that can bring wins. I will say it again IT'S NOT JUST FOOTBALL.

I agree it's not just football but a new AD will fail. When your AD can't even attend meetings with decision makers, doesn't report to the President like most of our competitors,  a new AD will not make a difference. You're simply re arranging the chairs on the deck of the Titanic.
Lafalum

Things for a new AD to negotiate for:
Accounting for 150 money
A clear accounting for non-counter sports scholarship availability
A stable standard for academic admissible student athletes, no changing the bar midstream.
Reports to the President
Living wage for assistants
Clear goals and hire and fire authority
Have fundraising for athletics report to him/her along with facilities and public relations
Better academic support for student athletes who need it

anyone want to add???
flyfisher

150 accounting is done. We know three things.

1. The money went to the capital fund
2. We don't know exactly how much was made but close.
3. Football won't get any of it.
