WLax vs. Temple

Better weather in store than the last game.  Tough opponent; this game should tells us a lot.

Ana White assistant-coaching again this yr.  Talent plus determination hard to beat.
Getting bullish on this team. Suppose it's a little early for that.

LC lost to Temple 17-6 - did not score in the 2nd half.  And it seems to me that they give up too many goals.

I suppose I'm looking too hard to find a team that might have a winning season and break this streak.  The best recruiters are men's and women's lacrosse and men's soccer.  (Can't count on FH because of schedule difficulty, although Stone is an excellent recruiter.)  I think the streak stops there.

I believe Stone may have recruited Lafayette's best FH class ever. There will be 6 excellent local recruits and two from the Netherlands. ( one local recruit changed her mind originally committing to Va,) Of course you have Amanda Madagan returning next year after the Junior Pan Am Games. She was co captain of the Junior US Team.

This was not a great defensive effort by a long shot.  A lot of those goals came about from missed defensive assignments, plain and simple.  There appears to be a communication problem going on back there.

Having said that, the offense seemed to develop too slowly.  We didn't use speed or the long ball effectively to generate numbers.  It almost looked like we were allowing Temple to recover defensively before the attack.

Still, I haven't given up hope.  There's a ton of season left.

I agree.  But, she needs to recruit another assistant soon so that she can have some help in pulling this team together.  It's a lot to ask of her and Emily by themselves.

I also want to see the remaining upperclassmen make some noise during the Spring season.  I didn't get to see any games last year, but I heard from at least one of the parents that it was, well, not the best effort.  I'm going to try to get to some this year.

Agree on both counts. A new asst. is an imperative!!

Agree that the defense was less than impressive in this game.  I realize there was an injury to an important defender during the game but that should not have made such a difference. Depth should have been ready to take up the slack.

Regroup, and stay determined!
