Thanks, cr.
We didn't have to wait long to get a look at Zach as he made an open field tackle on the opening kickoff. He then started at DE and would eventually play at least two series at DT. So that was a 6-4 235 DT/DE streaking cross field to make that opening tackle---pretty impressive mobility, IMO, and made him stand out on the field.
Zach made at least two other solo tackles, one an impressive shed and tackle in the backfield. Unfortunately the goofy commentator credited the tackle to someone else even as the PA announcer was calling Zach's name in the background. The result was no mention of LC as Zach's school of choice.
Making the transition from LB, I cant wait to see Zach after learning to play out of a stance on the line. I hope he's a DE for us to take advantage of his mobility, but even as a DT I really believe we could see him as a freshman. Nice job, Zach!
Colgate got a mention late in the game when their TE (a starter for the Northeast) made a one-handed grab. He was a tough and effective blocker throughout the game, taking on Zach on several occassions. Good one for Gate.
Some of the backups in the game were the Fordham LB Lubisher who showed good mobility at 6-0 230 and had a sack; a DT from Gate; and the QB Colvin from LU who had trouble with the snap early but led a long rushing drive later in the game, only one pass to the flat off a roll out.
Our OT Swoyer will play in the Penn E-W AS game later this month. I cant find a south roster for the NJ N-S game where Lister might have a chance.
