Sorry, guys, not to have responded earlier.  I really haven't utilized 247 much, but if you two are, I guess I 'd better go on the stick!   Last year for us I believe they only listed our OL recruit Raysor as a commit, not much coverage.

247 has partnered with a big outfit, correct?  Are they abandoning FCS?  Looks like I still see some Ivy coverage.

247 seems to be restored to its prior status.  For a week or more, it seemed to be listing only rated recruits, but now the recruits who are unrated are listed once again.

Thanks, breeze. I'm fumbling around on 247, not familiar yet. For instance, when I go to their list of 2014 commits, there are no PL schools listed. I can use an existing address and plug in PL schools.  They're up to 2 LC offers listed for 2015.

Andy/
No lists for FCS teams but just put name in search box and LC page comes up. I saved the page and just check in a few times a week
Has best updates on FCS of the 3 major sites.

Ok, thx, rich. However, if you check commit list of schools for 2014 lots of FCS listed (Marist, Ivys, etc) but no PL. I'm happy for a new source and it looks updated for 2015 as our new offer was tweeted 4 days ago and it appears on the 247 LC offered list. (2 names)

LB recruit Rob Hinchen is scheduled to play for thr North squad in the NJ North-South All-Star game. (Now the "Phil Simms New Jersey All-Star Football Classic.")

Rob is rostered at 6-2 245. (!) (205 on our roster)

Wouldn't it be cool if one of our local Easton friends like LCLF or Xbo went to next Thursday's McDonalds Lehigh Valley AS game and reported on the performance of our incoming players Mike Depaulo and Matt Tuerk?

The game will be broadcast regionally but probably not on the Internet.
These post-season "classics" are meaningless and the only significant outcome can be an injury. The Big 33 game is one thing. This is another.

This is the 25th or 26th event and all proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald Charities.  I won't call that meaningless.

Having the proceeds go to a good cause doesn't make the game meaningful or worth the risk. If a kid isn't going to play at the next level, fine. If a scholarship player is playing he's taking on needless risk.
There are lots of ways  to raise money.
Selling burgers for example. McDonald's 2013 revenue was $28 billion.
Schools that give scholarships should ban participation.
Young men may find other ways to get hurt but this is a needless risk.

I guess you never played high school sports. Sometimes you just play for fun.

Ditto.  You play the game . . . because there's a game to be played.  As I recall, the toughest part was begging Mom and Dad for the fee (if your municipal lifeguard income didn't cover it) and permission to use the car to get yourself there (along with 4-5 friends, who would chip in for the gas).

You probably would be even less happy with Bucknell basketball signee JC Show, who played in an all-star football game last month.   Show was 2-time AAA all-state in football but also was 3-time all-state AAA in basketball and PA's POY.   He says he wants to play football again after he uses up his basketball eligibility.   Dave Paulsen, Bucknell's basketball coach, didn't appear to have a problem with him playing football after signing - either for his H.S. in the fall or in this all-star game.  I imagine some other hoops coaches might have a different opinion.

Show had a couple big neutral-court tournament games in the Lehigh Valley. I don't know you guys got him. A friend from that area had said he was probably going to play football at Army. He's a great bb scorer.

Watched the first half on Service Electric replay today. Red team had superior speed, superior QB and superior coach in Jimmy Terwilliger.

No mention of Depaolo. Turek had a good first half: 4 catches, one of 28, one of 35, also ran an end around.
