Hey I have a question...what South Jersey "gets" were there? I saw the Inquirer today and there were no LC commits in the box they published but dudes to Lehigh, Bucknell, and Monmouth kept coming up (Im only mentioning direct competitors)...By SJ I'm saying below Mercer County and Monmouth County, everything south of those two counties?

Hamilton, NJ is the furthest south of the 3 Jersey boys. Does that count? I'm from exit 165; there's Bergen County, Newark, and down the shore.

No, that's in Mercer County...Who from down the shore?

Nobody, I was joking about the frame of mind of a kid growing up in Bergen.

There are a few kids from the Main Line and Bucks that are in the Inquirers coverage area, but maybe the SJ edition only published SJ kids?

Interesting - a UNH fan on AGS in the "best recruit in your class" thread nominated Chatman. Not that we ever bought into the above.

NO! That's Pascack Valley, our main rival back in the 60s-'70s. Beat them 56-6 my sr year. But, who's counting. Wink

Brian McLoughlin, the HeroSports writer who did the piece on our class as it was taking shape, has picked Colgate's class as the 30 th best in FCS and tops in the PL, not even mentioning any others. I'm off the Hero band wagon.

Frank said we're at 59 and we might bring in 3 or 4 more how is that possible?

Yeah, good question. presumably:

Full pays or the newly allowed 3 unrecruited walkons who may receive need based aid that does not count toward the "60".

So initial phone contact with the athlete, unlimited email contact, no official visit, no in person contact, all phone communication accomplished after initial comm. is via HS coach, not athete directly. No NLI. Coaches want to find high need kids, I assume, to make it attractive. We've gone over the rules for "nonrecruited" walkons before somewhere on the board.

Andy,
Those unrecruited WOs can visit campus just not as an official one. No contact with coaches. Coaches can and do suggest campus visits. Lehigh is doing the same now hunting for some WOs with some potential and we really nerd a Punter. Smile

The more I watch Spigner's highlights the more intrigued I am at him playing WR.  Let's hope he has great hands!

Yes! We know he can run and great frame.

How about a comparison - Keith Earle and our awesome captain Marvin Snipes?!

Snipes - came in at 6-2 235 (would grow to 250), got after the QB, 4.6 40, impressive character and student

Earle - comes in at 6-2 225, gets after the QB, standout in track, impressive character and academics.

We can only hope....

Andy:

First, thanks for all the hard work and the excellent insights. Second, I want to make a comment on recruiting.

In the past 2 recruiting classes, it appears that the Pards have invested heavily in building a big, physical OL to fit a run-first mentality. Not a knock but do not see most of the O-lineman as well-suited to playing in a wide-open spread-type offense.

Yes!  Great comparison on the size, style of play and character!
