Been saying it all along. Major culture issue. I like Byerly, think she is doing a great job growing the college but even she said she doesn't have any experience wth D1 sports. At least she admits it. She probably doesn't see what was winning can bring.

Something to address next is Diorio. Why our AD reports to her I will never know. Today she was organizing a LGBT barricade at the stadium entrance. There were 3 straight lines of people and and you had to walk between the kids and they would high 5 you. They did not take well to the Trump hats. Is that what the lady over athletics should be doing before lafayette/ Lehigh game?

Worse yet, the Oreo has been named chair of the committee to make our athletics competitive again.

In honor of FT I'm ordering bottle two of Sicilian red, Callabretta, at Ninety Acres in Somerset County.
Maybe three.
This situation is insane. I like how Brad Wilson and Carlson Blake are being very blunt.
We are wasting money on the field.
Recruiting. Developing. Play-calling. Game planning. It all f-n stinks.

You there now?  I live five minutes from there.   Let's share our misery!!   By the way, Trump is in town.  Would not be shocked if some of his entourage is at Ninety Acres tonight.  I have seen Ivanka there.

as frustrated as we all are, I know LC will be good again one day. We have great infrastructure as far as facilities, some of the best and most supportive alumni I have ever met, and a good education. We/you get the right leadership in place and LC will be great again. I feel bad for many of you but stay the course. it will get better. maybe not with our current leadership but one day.

btw, my son says the professors are the best part of of college. they grade their own tests, papers, homework with no grad help. They meet you n weekends. For the most part they work their ass off.

It is time. Clean house. Fresh start. Best facilities in the PL and the most unproductive staff. What an embarrassment. This is not a bump in the road. It is a down hill spiral. Dear God, does no one care?

I went in via Exit 24 to avoid the potential president-elect traffic jams. Cut through the back roads. Great food and drinks. We got there early for a drink and sat in the main dining area. The "bring me food" concept is a little too active for me.
I'm not usually into fruity drinks but the pear Collins was great.

There are a lot of great places to visit around there. The Buck garden in particular. This is what I'm thinking about on Lehigh weekend.

I'm out and just got home to find an "Invest in Lafayette Athletics" mailing.
I'd rather invest in Enron.

**also odd the GPS took me to the Gladstone post office when I put in Natirar's address. The guy at Gladstone Liquors gave me directions.

I may look at the DVR soon what the hell.

What kind of person wants to make himself HATED by the very people who are supposed to root for his players.   Does he realize that he is making himself the center of attention to the detriment of his team?

So many important revelations about the dept shared here this year - thanks guys. Another thing revealed today, but by his own words - The Selfish Frank Tavani. So ashamed of myself for supporting this guy.

'I'm gonna stay around and ruin your sr year, too.' Thanks, Coach.

Some amazing catches (yes, and a drop) by Mrazek. What does he get 4 or 5 touches a game? What a star that kid wouldve been with competent coaches. Like at Lehigh.

That fourth down run wide was beyond comprehension.

Just got home from the long drive back from Easton and a 37 minute delay on the Tappan Zee Bridge.  I had a number of pleasant conversations with parents and players after the game.  Congratulated Drew Reed on four good years including a wonderful win over LU in Bethlehem four years ago.  And high fived him on the catch on the 2 point conversion in the fourth quarter.  Sat next to Wadworth's Mom in the 2nd half - he had a very good game.

Having found some positives to talk about, I must admit I am beyond disgusted with the state of our athletic program.  Football has been disaster the last two seasons and even the Game 150 team had a losing record.  When I try to be objective, it was clear today that LU recruits faster, more athletic players and finds some very good o-linemen.  The LU QB is outstanding and he just killed us today.  The tackling of the defense was terrible today, as bad as I have seen it for a long time.

I plan to make it clear to everyone in the Development Dept that I have gone public (as have others) in recommending that no one contribute an additional penny until the Committee comes out with its recommendations.  And if the recommendations are not focused on WINNING, having a NEW AD report to Byerly, paying the assistants better and holding coaches accountable, I will continue to recommend that alums who care about sports withhold their donations.  I certainly expect the report to recommend more money for athletics among other things, wherever it might come from.

I definitely won't sleep well tonight, and play to call Spang on Monday and give her an earful.

I agree, not a penny.   But I would add this, given Frank's
disgusting and arrogant comments today there should particularly be no money unless he is immediately relieved of his duties.   He said today that they could not fire him because the College owed him too much money.  Think about this Lafayette, how much money is keeping him there going to cost you?

Heard something different from 2 players after the game. He said the season was all on him and he would be better next year and if it wasn't him then he would support the next person. Take it for what it is worth. Probably just talk after a game and before he could think.

It is all on Frank, but it won't get better as long as he is here. Just not possible.  No leadership, he doesn't recruit and is incompetent as a coach.  He can't win and won't win.

Very sad times for this great little school on the hill! Franks arrogance is disturbing and he is showing very little class! It's unacceptable in my opinion if there isn't a change in leadership!

He's under .500 for his career but somehow next year is going to be different. Nope. I'll beat this dead horse...Frank's winning days were ONLY the result of having talented assistants running the show.  Same coaches next year = same results. The end.

When I suggested to Alison that athletics report to her just before she started the job four years ago, she said she would be too busy and felt it could be done by Diorio and Bruce!

Fly: thanks for reminding me about the "three straight lines" at the entrance to the Stadium.  What was that about?  Were any of those people students.  They were handing out pieces of paper but I did not take one.
