I remember when Lafayette announced it was "not adding scholarships, period." At least twice.

It's been five years and there's zero movement to change the inconvenient truth--there's  no solid financial reason to spend $4-5M on football and finish in fifth place instead of sixth.

As long as Georgetown is recruiting within one standard deviation on an average SAT of 1490, as long as it is playing on facilities better suited to a high school team, and as long as it holds no schedule ambitions outside losing to the Ivy League, the argument collapses of its own weight. But as someone from the Engineers' message board put it, if Georgetown added 60 scholarships, they wouldn't be playing in the Patriot League, either.

Actually, the league in many ways let Georgetown down. The draw was no scholarships and the PL changed the rules midstream. I'd be pissed too.

Does anyone know where any of our former staff has ended up?

Call Frank, he probably knows.

Yes, Dell has resigned for a job outside of coaching. I have not heard that any of the other guys have landed on anything yet (at least not in college football).

He is engaged. He has to provide. He is at the bottom he f the totem pole for asst coaches financially. The job doesn't pay well at this level and we don't exactly lead the way either. The boys really like him and he is actually a good position instructor. Good recruiter as well. I had not heard he resigned. He was in the position just a couple of days ago when I was on campus.

I am aware of what some of the coaches are doing but not at liberty to say.

Link is posting stuff about local 7 on 7 stuff.  Perhaps doing that and some private coaching right now.  It appears that all of the departed assistants are still in limbo.

The big coaches' conference is over, isn't it?  Heff always said that the conference was the place to get a job, or a new job.  Maybe things have changed, but it doesn't seem to bode well for the departed.

Well, there's an opening at Bucknell as their recruitingcoordinator/LB coach is the new head man at Dickinson. Bucky has gotten some decent players of late.

Anyone know names of commits so we can watch some tape of them?  What kind of impact is the new staff making... I am sure they have tons of connections and are loading up and getting ready to seal the deal with some great kids.

Indeed - this board likely has the best recruit tracking in all of FCS. Andy and Company have been doing this for years. There are stats and links to film on just about every prospect. No need to look elsewhere!

So true and in an area where we sorely needed some catching up with the rest of the league's staffs.  Noted Brandon B's comment in his interview reinforcing the "high energy" description of these guys.

WV, true. I had a long flight delay in Dec. 2005 from DTW to PHL due to snow and had a good chat with the LB coach of Penn who was appointed by Bagnoli and was with him at Union before that. I asked him if he ever considered departing on his own and he said he was always haunted by the out of work coaches scurrying around that conference, eyes wide, looking for a place. He said Bagnoli wanted him and he couldnt endure that scene.

Special Teams Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator (and presumed Belichickian Evil Genius) Marc Nudelberg has been made official.

Lafayette: Per source, Valdosta State defensive line coach Justin Hinds will join John Garrett’s staff at Lafayette. The pair worked together previously at Florida.

What fun watching this staff come together!  What an extraordinary process, the list compiled over the years by JG in anticipation of this moment, as revealed by Paul R. in his column.  So Coach Thompson remains DC/LBs?
