Andrew Pleick, started playing in 2001-02. He got screwed out of a year by his coach at Drake.
Knitter didn't play until 2003. Lafayette could use more guys like him.

Correction - Knitter transferred in Sept. 2002. Sat out a year.

2 transfers, 15 years

I think what has happened is that Men's BBall originally had 12 scholarships. They have lost players before graduating and the scholarships have not been replaced. He continues to get three per year.

OK, Laf, then PR is wrong.  He says 11 funded by LC budget.  The original announcement had us 3 per year up to 12.

That may be correct, but somehow he had 13 two years ago. I only the problem isn't the number of scholarships or funding in general, but rather how FOH has used them.

13 is doubtful. AF's scholarship status has been a matter of conjecture on this board.

Funding less than the rest of the league is a huge problem.  Can't deny that Fran's recruiting has been the subject of criticism on our board for quite awhile.

It was a great name last night, led from the opening tipoff until the final buzzer. Even the officiating was good. The team is coming together, freshmen getting lots of playing time and improving with each game. Sunday will be a challenge.

It's a young team, we are certainly not going to sweep the league but we will be competitive in most of the games. Once again O'Hanlon is building a team capable of winning the league in the next couple of years. Solid PG coming in next year and another big man ready to play.

What amazes me is that so many posters claim to be Lafayette grads sit at home watching the games yet post negative comments even when the teams win.

Agree X and thanks. I think the Janacek 3 late in the game when we needed a score was a great sign. First that he hit it and also that Lindner had the confidence to give him the look. Stroking FTs again also helps.
There seemed to be a more aggressive approach at both ends of the floor. 2 players fouled out, but, that's OK. Showed effort.

Bison137 is right, we Pards had 13 scholarships as recently as 2015:

(Stafford, Ptasinski, Lindner, Hinrichs, Klinewski, Scott, Trist, Rufer,  Flannigan, Hoffman,  Boykins, Freeland and Musters)

What started happening then was the one player a year defection for the last three years: Hoffman (2015), Barlow (2016) and Dunkum (2017).

I don't think the program has been permitted to replace those schollies until that class has matriculated.  That leaves us with the current predicament of 10 scholarship players (nine healthy).

Fran has been doing a good job under the circumstances. One can only wonder what our status would be in the league this season had Hoffman stayed and Monty been healthy.

LC is a 12 scholarship program. Whether 11 or all 12 are funded via the budget is open to question(only because PR reported it). Why shouldn't it be 13 like the rest of the PL?  If 2014-2015 roster included 13 scholarship players, it is an aberration. Every other season from 2010 on has been 12.

And no Marques scholars there either?

Loyola beats Lehigh in Bethlehem.

Speaking of this game, Lehigh's Matt Holba got absolutely roasted by Walker on the game-winner.

Highlight is at the bottom of Loyola's game recap: http://www.loyolagreyhounds.com/n...-as-hounds-down-lehigh-01-05-2017
