Commit Jake Taggart will be at the spring game this weekend.   Would be at practices to watch if we could but the 3.5 hr drive makes it impossible

assuming many of the recruits will be on hand.   I wont make it there either, but will be depending on the reports on this site to get a read on where we stand

After attending Tuesday and Thursday practices, I can see a definite higher energy level. The coaches are thoroughly engaged and the players seem to be very motivated. Head coach involvement in every phase. I know this is only the beginning and still very early in the process but I believe we are way ahead of the curve. Every player seems to be getting reps.

Defense ahead of offense right now. I hate to single out players but I feel a need to mention soon improvements. TJ (10) looked very good on Thursday. He made two major stops in a row on short yardage. The team rallied around him. I hope he can keep improving. Tuesday (45) Trent Crossan made a lot of plays at strong safety.  This is not to say they were the best performers but they were noticeably improved.

I've observed practice up close and make one finding regarding the delivery and content of our head coach.

As a coach , I can say confidently that your number one assignment is to place your players individually in the best position to succeed in every game, and every practice.  From my perspective, our hc is making a concerted effort to deliver proactive messages with every X And O.  He's dialed in not only to the end, but making sure players understand why we handle each assignment in specifics.

In regards to game management, I'm already looking forward to the tempo of our offensive scheme.  This is because I'm convinced that our clock management will be very efficient.

Today is finally here! Having a spring game helps to set the tone for the off season. Since football is a contact sport, tackling in game like situations is crucial. I pray no player gets hurt today but I expect a very physical game. The format today will probably resemble the "team" period in practice. There isn't enough players to break up into two complete teams - especially offensive linemen.

Oh, is that how the BCS programs do it, 2 full teams? I've never witnessed one of their spring games. Here it's always been the squad divided into offense vs defense, alternating 1s vs 2s, 2s vs 3s.....there will be a lot of 7X 7:

"Normal game and clock rules will be used and the teams will play four, 15-minute quarters. The teams will alternate between 11-on-11 and 7-on-7 units by series."

Interested particularly in OL - from videos I'm expecting Marotti, Murphy, Bradley, Grieser, Cam (not sure if he is back healthy).  Looks like the sophs have benefitted impressively from the weight program.

That's why I will leave the reporting to the more informed. I always thought a spring game was an actual game. I guess watching the televised spring games fooled me. Either way, there will be contact today.

Because athletics has never been a priority for the school.

If they were not going to bother with the PLN broadcast (after promoting it and all) maybe they could have let us know?

I'm up in Woostah Mass for the moment so couldn't make it to Easton for the spring game. I put aside this entire afternoon and re-arranged everything so I could watch the PLN stream.

But nooooooo . . . . . . . Evil or Very Mad

Yeah, a rainy day...perfect for catching the spring game on the big screen.  😏Many questions on twitter about why it isn't working are falling on deaf ears. Who is responsible for this??

Probably somebody whose job was replaced by yet another unnecessary "Dean of Pointless Objectives."

Another winless Saturday is in the books, and the one easy, sure chance to earn goodwill from the fans was squandered. It's another insult to the few left who care.
This so-called sports program deserves nothing but contempt.
Coach Garrett, it's an unfair and heavy load, but you carry the only hope for respectability. At least in football we have legitimate professionals guiding the team.
I hope baseball can pick up a win before this wretched year ends. These kids have lost by every way possible late in games and can't get a break.
