It's a damn shame that Lindner's teammates with one exception can't / won't / or don't want to compete.
There were a few more that tried to compete but it was one ugly game.  Horrific shooting, excessive turnovers, bad defense - Lafayette did it all.

Why didn't FOH call a time early in the first half  when LU was running away  with the games?  He seems indifferent.

Why did he wait in until less than 7 minutes to go to give Miles Cherry a shot?  At least he was hustling and fighting for the ball, got a few points and rebounds.  Too many of Lafayette's players seem to have no purpose being on a D1 BB court.  Hardly a good use of those scholarship dollars.

LU was bigger, faster and taller.  LC looks like a high school team in physique by comparison.

LU showed bad sportsmanship by taking the ball to the hoop in 2 fast breaks when up by 24 with less than a minute to go.

Sad way for Linder to go out. He has been a proud Pard and great competitor.

This miasma is too disheartening to even comment upon.I attended the game with my son and his girlfriend. They walked out with about six minutes to go to get to the pig roast early. The game was too stupefying for me to walk out on. Just like the football games - a horrific train wreck from which you can't avert your eyes. And the women's team is worse. As we were driving I joked "If we don't get there on time Lafayette could be out of the game 10-2 by rthe time we sit down." Five minutes in  my son said "Dad you were right."At that point it was 10-2 . Lafayette hadn't made a basket but converted 2 FT's. Lehigh never looked back.

Was working in the yard. Did we get our FOH post-game de facto "what do you want from me"/ "they're more athletic"/ "I'm doing my best but 'the type of kid' we recruit isn't getting the job done" SHRUG?

The bold action required is to get rid of Bruce and FOH and the consultant is not going to touch that. If the consultant doesn't "go there," Alison is definitely not going to.

So here we are, hoping BY SOME MIRACLE that a Trist, a Heinrichs, or a Jackson or KEMPTON or ALEXANDER (HC) falls into our lap; that, of course, and realizing that the bold action is probably in the rear-view mirror with the hiring of Garrett.

The Lehigh website said this is the biggest winning margin for LU over LC since 1995.
If there is no change, the fans should boycott the games.
Enough of the program serving the coach.
Let's get a coach who will serve the program.

My dog was barking during the interview, but I think the gist of it was,
"We are a young team" that can't handle pressure or do much of anything.
I used to think we had six sixth men. Actually we have six eighth or ninth men, who wouldn't even be found on other PL teams.

Some of the players are just going through the motions. They've given up and I can't blame them, the staff has given up.

With some effort there could be wins at Colgate and in the first round.

The fans have nearly given up as well.  FSC seemed  like a morgue.  There shouldn't be empty seats for the Rivalry game but there were.  What happened to the Zoo crew? Driven out by political correctness and the constant announcements to keep it clean?
Couldn't LC have given out rally towels or the like?
Total indifference all around except for a few players  and a few fans.

Colgate's Will Rayman is the league's Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this year. Even Army and American have managed to pick that up.
Lafayette has not had a player or rookie of the week all season, though Lindner and Klinewski deserved it somewhere along the way.
I suspect the weekly awards are strongly correlated with games against Lafayette. Perhaps Foulland is next?
The lack of a rookie weekly winner is telling.
Yes we are young. No we are not good.
Going nowhere fast and there is no hope.

Boycott!

News from another galaxy:   University of Denver was in the Final Four in men's soccer and is presently no.1 in both men's ice hockey and men's lacrosse.  Means nothing to most on this board (I'm sure), but given our inability to even have winning seasons, I respect that.

Point:  They don't Mickey Mouse with their coaches.  You win or you're gone.  That would never happen in PL, you say.  I think, with the advent of scholarships, the PL is there now.  We, of course, are not;  but, the other schools are.  Two (maybe three) bad seasons in FB or BB and the AD is looking elsewhere.  Again, not at LC because of our low level of expectation, but IMO coaches at other PL schools who are losing in major sports are on thin, thin ice.

Rebecca Chopp (formerly Colgate's president) is the Chancellor of the University of Denver.  Just FYI for those who weren't aware.

Bogie: I believe Chopp was controversial at the Gate in regard to athletics but I may be wrong.

You aren't wrong. I think they didn't care much for Herbst either. Chopp did lean toward football scholarships.
Yet when it comes to sports I don't know if any college president can win.
Like it or not, their first job is raising money. Their second job is maintaining or raising academic prestige.
Considering Gate's success relative to Lafayette, it's food for thought.
