Lafayette  Zach Midulla  TE/LB (thanks to W & M poster on AGS for the heads up)

now carried by rivals as a solid verbal

Zach Midulla is one of the top LB/DE prospects in Central Virginia.  Standing 6'2 and weighing a solid 235 lbs., Midulla looks like the prototypical "Penn State" linebacker.  Midulla plays with passion, and he has a desire to become the best at whatever he is involved in.  He has good speed (4.7 forty) and strength (330 bench) and has a tremendous upside.  He will project as a MLB or strongside DE depending on the defensive alignment his future college runs.  Midulla also shows good leadership on and off the field.  He is a team captain and a 3.5 student in the classroom.//////

Looks like we have the potential for quite a good defense shaping up. Still hoping for a playmaker on offense.

94, apparently an article on rivals.com (subscribers only, so I haven't read it) mentions Zach is being recruited by us as a TE,  along the lines of Doty's recruitment.  They seem very similar and this gives us two tough, physical kids at the position.

We could probably use another, I'm not sure for which position Boyko of Northampton is being recruited--maybe TE.

Based on available video and a lot of good press, another top defensive player we're involved with is  LB/DE Protin of Lakeland HS, north Jersey. He would add to what already looks like, as you say, a real good D class.

We (and Lehigh as well) have offered a real quick DB out of Georgia named Graham Duncan.  There is video available from a combine.   And of course I'm hoping for Leggiero's brother at LB.

Receivers and RBs, we shall see.   Coaches seem to have done a great job.

Thanks for the clarification Andy. I have no idea how this class is shaping up from a numbers perspective but it certainly seems the quality is there. Carney's going to have to give us quite a few Patsy Points based on kids who are actually rated on the major sites. I'd love to hear that we landed a stud RB or QB.

I've read a couple of articles now where the kids are referencing the facilities. What a difference 3 years and $33 million make. Nice to see that paying off now. THANK GOD we finished that project before the financial world melted down around us. I have to image Mr. Bourger and Mr. Fisher are not immune from all of this. If this project were delayed by a couple of years i think we'd all still be complaining about splinters in our butts.

Hopefully our benefactors aren't too badly effected by all of this crap. I'd hate to think they dropped a significant chunk of change on Lafayette and are now "suffering" becuase of it.

Welcome  aboard, Jason!

AS DT Jason Marshalek selects LC---Eastern PA Sports

background info from sungazette:  (He is also a TE)

Marshalek, like Cascio, is a veteran of the Warrior program. The 6-4, 270-pound 12th grader played varsity as a freshman and started the last three years.

He entered his senior year as the Central Susquehanna Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year and didn't disappoint. Marshalek averaged almost 10 tackles a game and was the team leader in sacks. Marshalek was a mainstay on a defense that surrendered an average of 14 points a game. The Warriors pitched two shutouts and seven times held opponents to single digits.

"The thing about Jason is he understands the game," Bergen said. "We saw him at times make a tackle on a screen near the sidelines. You see him on film, he recognized it and anticipated, and was running before the quarterback even looked. He's really intelligent, knows the game, and he really helped himself."

Marshalek is looking at both Lafayette and Cornell, and wants to continue playing football. He can now add an all-state selection to an already impressive resume.

Article on Jason's commitment indicates he is in fact a DL recruit for us:

Does anyone know what time we can expect to see the list of LOI tomorrow?

Also, it seems like there weren't a whole lot of skill position guys on the "LC-verballed" listing. Does anyone have an indication of what/who/why this is or am I jumping the gun a bit and we can expect to see several offensive skill guys on tomorrow's posting?

Andy? Anyone?

My recollection is that the announcement came late in the day - but on LOI day, not the day after.  Perhaps the SID's last official act before heading home?
