My daughter wanted to go to the game. I told her "we're either going to win which we should and I can't get too excited about beating a horrid team like Colgate or were going to lose and I'm going to die of shock.

There's no justifying keeping her now. None. Colgate..At home...NO JUSTIFICATION!!!

I think the cellar is safe. NObody else is going to lose to 'Gate.

Like bad teams tend to do it looks like they tried to give it away by missing 5 out of 6 foul shots over the last 2 minutes---they TRIED to give it to us....Whadya gonna do.

I'm just gonna keep yappin until one of the better informed fans decides to clue me in. I'll start watching the tape tomorrow. In the mean time...

There's a reason every time we turn on John and Gary they are hyping the need to win at home. IN basketball, more than any other sport, provides a home advantage. Folks, we have VERY strange gym---our home court is worth 10.

Colgate is averaging 52 PPG this season, they got 62 on us tonight. IN their last four league road games they have scored 39, 40, 43 and 47. 62 in Kirby....and crap foul shooting at the end.

Colgate's younger than us. Polinski is their only senior. They had plenty of freshmen/sophs in the rotation. She average 3.5 points and 4 rebounds/game. At lesat they can say they are inexperienced and stink.

Sorry to be so harsh. If there's a reception to say thank you to Tammy and commend her effort, I'll be there. If Bruce decides this debacle should go on any longer HE is the one who should be accountable.

regretably I agree with everything you said. Obviously our recruiting efforts have not brought the talent here and to lose to Colgate at home is the last straw.
I actually think both BBall programs are done for the year. There is no joy at Kirby this year outside of a Navy game by the men. I don't see anything comparable in the women. This is clearly a step backward.

Once again they advertise the game as being broadcast on all-access and once again I get a "not available at this time." Ridiculously frustrating. I "watched" it on gametracker which is worse than waterboarding.

Anyway, with two full scholarship recruiting cycles complete we lose on our home court to a bunch of undergrads coached by a woman the gate fans call the worst coach in Div 1 basketball; the team ranked 334 out of 340 Div 1 teams. A new low in the Tammy era.

I can't believe it took all you regular posters this long to come to the conclusion that it's past time for Tammy to go. After reading all the recent posts, I'll state what I believe or understand to be some of the core reasons for this team's dismal performance.

1. This team HAS talent, maybe as much talent as most of the teams in the league. The main problem with this team is the LACK OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT! I have not seen any of the players become any better as players than the day they arrived on campus.

2. The players love the game and each other; they are a family, but they DO NOT LIKE, much less love Tammy. They also DO NOT RESPECT Murphy as a coach. Tammy DOESN'T LISTEN to Wedo's input; she's looking to get out of here as soon as possible.

3. The players HATE the offense. It's too complex and too easy to screw up. They realize that passing the ball around the perimeter is useless and forces them into bad shots when the shot clock is almost up. We do use our big girls in the offense, even to distribute the ball to open shooters or even when they have a height advantage over our opponent.

4. The players don't understand why Tammy doesn't mix up the defense. It's pretty easy for our opponents to game plan their offense when they know we don't run anything but man-to-man 100% of the time.

5. If you think YOU can't figure our Tammy's logic for who plays how much and when, the players are even MORE CONFUSED.

Is is time for Tammy to go? It was time last year!

I agree Tammy should go but here is the issue ( and I know this board doesn't like dealing with it). The college is in a financial crisis and is about to go off the cliff of smaller budgets while Weis wants to execute his plan of hiring more professors, diversity deans, expanding his pet staffs. What chance will we have to compete for a quality coach in the open market?? Another mediocre D3 coach will not do it!!

Mentioned some of that, noteably the "need" for a diversity dean (plus the travesty on the endowment) to the caller from LC asking for annual contribution last night - sounded like I was not the first to ask.......

And yes, I gave - will always have a place in my heart for LC, but starting to feel like its another "bailout" program I am helping foot the bill for.

Tammy's time has come - we wont get what we want in a perfectly experienced coach, but there HAS to be some D3 talent on the rise (Tammy wasnt the right pick) we can chose from.

My only hope now is that we can beat Lehigh on Senior Day so the five seniors who have toiled away for the past four years have at least one good memory of their senior year. Other than that I've given up hope that Tammy can turn it around.

curiousgeorge makes some good points. I've expressed my displeasure with the offensive scheme for the past two years. We spend too much time outside the arc and not enough time attacking the basket. I'm not sure what prompted her to implement this offense when she started to get more athletic players.

The fact that we beat Colgate in their house by 12 a month ago and we lose to them at home clearly shows that they've improved and we haven't. Their bench was lively the entire game, ours had no life until the closing minute.

I've seen very little player development, especially with our bigs. None of our postplayers have back to the basket moves, no drop step, no baby hook, no moves with the off hand. Those things have to be taught. Maybe thats why we use this offense - we can't develope post players.

I don't think budget considerations would be a factor in attracting a new coach. With scholarships, if we advertised for a new coach tomorrow, they'd be lined up around the block.
