Well it was certainly a great win for the seniors. Nobody wants to end their career on an eleven game losing streak. I know we only made 3 foul shots the entire game, not sure how many we took, probably 12 -15.
We played a great first half, very agressive on both ends of the court. We collapsed the middle on D forcing AU to shoot from the outside. Only Kirk was halfway decent from the perimeter for AU. We attacked the rim on the offensive end and Wright was unstopable in the paint. I don't believe Spicer took a shot the entire game. Good inside work by Virgin and Garner.
Who would have expected the 6 and 7 seeds to meet in the semi's. Navy held on to knock off BU in a game between two offensively challenged teams.
Lehigh had an easy game with CU and used all their players sparingly so they should be well rested for the game with Army. Army pulled away midway in the second half over HC.
Why is their no support from the band and cheerleaders? LU is on break but they brought in three junior high school bands. CU had their band at the game. Army had their band and cheerleaders. HC had their band and cheerleaders. Navy had its band. BU had its band. LC had no band, no cheerleaders. At least the Leopard showed up. Pitiful. |

I continue to be disappointed in the student body support for their classmates. We should be doing a better job in orientation.
I AM happy for these girls!! |

Having the 7 seed in the semis is definitely a surprise. The 6 seed however is no surprise, since Navy not only had the same record as the 3 seed (8-6 in league play) but would likely have finished 2nd if Cassie Consedine hadn't been hurt for almost half the league season. One more win would have given them 2nd place, and they lost home games to Bucknell, Holy Cross, and Army while she was out. She is now back and apparently played well.
Navy's new coach seems to be doing a great job. |

The Leopard is no longer a student. It is an employee who asked if he could do it. If you look at the basketball stands this year it is 90 pct alumni and easton residents so it follows.... |

Look at us, only two three point attempts!! That's quite a change in approach.
X, watching on computer couldn't tell what happened with the technical. Called right in the middle of a two-on-one break. Then with the missed layup, a few poorly chosen shots by the freshman and the foul shooting--we were trying to blow it.
I, too, am so happy for the seniors. How 'bout another one, ladies!? |
