While LCLF's out playing golf, or doing whatever he does on a rainy day, I've been pounding the keyboard and located two softball recruits. Kristen Berger a 2B/OF from New Jersey Intensity AAU team and Victoria Vergona a 1B from New Jersey Pride AAU team.  I'm sure LCLF will be posting some Ice Hockey and Tennis recruits over the next few days.

Here is a list of recruits who have apparantly committed to LC.  No idea if this is all or if there are some more offers out there.  Looks like the new coach is adding the speed in the outfield that has apparantly been lacking in past seasons (at least that is according to previous posters).

Sweigart, Samantha 2B/3B     2014 Lower South Liberty Gold  (NJ)
Thomas, Stephanie P/INF      2014 New Jersey Pride  (NJ)
Shoemaker, Lauren OF/MIF   2014 Something Special Gold  (OR)
Moore, Quinlan OF/SS     2014  Virginia Legends  (VA)
Skurla, Miranda             3B/1B/OF  2014  Polar Crush Elite  (MA)
Morgan Biddle               OF           2014   Boca Impact  (FL)

The new softball coach has announced the early signing of 5 kids.  Looks like there may be a couple more to sign this spring.  Looks like there will be some changes coming.

Looks like they have have finally finished off with the softball recruiting.  Eight new kids, two seniors leaving, several kids quitting.  Sounds like there is some house cleaning going on with some higher expectations and increased demands being made.  I hope the new coach does well by the remaining kids and especially the new kids coming in.  In other words I hope there was not a lot of empty promises made or not followed through on by the coach and the administration.

I've heard from a reliable source that he's getting 2 scholarships. Hopefully he uses them wisely.

That was well over a year ago that I was told they had 2. Since that time I was told the actual number was 4. Four would make us competitive, if they are used wisely. They certainly haven't been able to recruit a pitcher who will win games.  And that's where you need to start.

From the Steph Thomas article linked above:

Quote:
Her dominant pitching, which included 113 wins (only seven losses) with 69 shutouts, both state records, to go along with nine no-hitters and three perfect games, made her a powerful presence in the circle.

Sounds good to me.  Very Happy

Later in  the article cited it discloses that Thomas's sister is already a Lafayette player.

Steph was 2-14 for the Leopards in 2015 with a 6.5 ERA. She's not backed by the same level of player as she was at IHA.  Better days ahead.

Whoops!  Didn't realize I was looking at last year's recruit. Embarassed Guess D1 competition is a giant step up from HS.   Rolling Eyes
