It's a sick day for me - I'm watching. Nobody should ever - under any circusmtances, drop 3 to 'Gate in one year.

Not hard to see why these teams are a combined 12-44. Horrible shot selection, horrible ball movement, horrible defense.

'Pards up 6-5 midway through the 1st.

The men dropped three to Colgate during one of the Adonal Foyle years. They've been swept 0-2 since then. Langel is somehow eking out a team up there.
The women are fighting for another game and might just get it.

'Pards up 21-17 after 1 and a couple of off-balance 3's by Colgate (including one as the buzzer went) are keeping it close. This is our game to lose. This is NOT a good 'Gate team.

After a very good first half, we lost the game in the 3rd quarter.  Got killed on the boards again (52-39 for the game).  Shot 3-16 in the 3rd quarter.  No excuses, but refs called fouls in the 2nd half that they were not calling in the 1st half - Gate was 5-8 from the free throw line in the 3rd quarter and we had zero FTs in the quarter.

Hood was absolutely terrific on a bad leg - her best game ever.  Ottewill-Soulsby played hard.  Stipa and Cantwell were solid.  Good offense from Ptasinski, but some of her defensive mistakes were glaring.  15 assists for O'Hare, but poor decision making too many times.  Ribarich throwing up her arms after getting toasted defensively was not cool.

I think they'll be a better team next year.  Promising recruits.  And senior leadership will be much stronger.

Strange game to say the least. Like you I can't bring myself to fault the refs but they definitely switched things up.

I guess I was on a bender in 2004 when the Raiders won the league title (and we also lost 3 times to them). Seriously. That happened? Colgate women's basketball sucking is one of those things I set my watch too. It's scary they found a way to have a good season amidst our decades of desperation - and please don't tell me that Cotterrell Court was wooing the recruits away before we had a chance to refurbish the KSC!

The maturation of O'Hare as a player was impressive - thanks for giving it everything you had every time you took the floor.

I certainly think we'll be better next year - there are a LOT of fundamental little things we're doing just plain wrong and I have full faith that coach Grentz sees everything I do times 10.

I've always liked the "pure" nature of the women's game - I hope this program can somehow become a contender before too long.

I don't watch the women a lot. Has this team improved? It is disappointing that we are in a play in game let alone lose it. Coach G loves her recruits. I hope we are moving in the right direction.

kudos to Maia Hood - a terrific game.  The third quarter typified the team's play during the season: they would disappear and the other team would rack 'em up.

Glad this season is over, and look forward to next year with the new recruits.

They've got a long way to go. Six wins and they're losing their MVP going into next season. I see some flashes of hope here and there - but the bottom line is we need more athleticism. The few times I had a chance to see them the shot selection was pretty poor (not many of our girls are going to be hitting off balance jumpers off the dribble, but we take them regularly) and we didn't do a very good job playing man - to much defense with your hands and not enough feet sliding.

Fran didn't show us his tremendous upside until year 3 (and that was with Ciosici!) and the third year was pivotal for coach Tavani as well. I'm a big believer in the "year three rule" which I just made up...By that time you've implemented your system, most of the recruits are yours and we should be getting an idea of how successful you're going to be at Lafayette.

O'Hanlon year 3: 19-10 (this is my memory - I could be off) and lost in the league finals despite an amazing game by the silent assasisn.

Tavani year 3: 7-5 and the end of a seven year losing streak against Lehigh.

Griffiths - 13-6 and fell in the title game to a highly ranked AU squad.

Bohn: League title and NCAA tournament berth.

I'm not going to beat up on the coaches who had less than spectacular 3rd seasons - but they'd have a hard time using the excuse that the cupboard was bare as O'Hanlon and Tavani had to start from absolute zero.

In short I'm saying I'm not expecting much next year - I hope we can get to double-digit wins but we have a lot of work to do. It takes time to turn ships this off course around.
