Here is a template from Holy Cross

Hired Nate Pine in 2013:
Graduate of Oregon state, came from university of Maryland where he supervised men's basketball, soccer, women's soccer and baseball and revenue generation. Spent three years at Berkley, and before that West Point.
After arriving at Holy Cross he hired a new basketball coach, ice hockey coach, ne men's lacrosse coach, new women's lacrosse coach, new volleyball coach, new field hockey coach, new women's soccer coach, and a new softball coach.

He reorganized the senior staff, and recruited and replaced six administrators.
The school has raised 52 million dollars and school committed to a 95 million dollar Hart center expansion and renovation project.

He reports to the president, his charge is to " transform the athletic s culture on Mt St James to put Holy Cross back into the national consciousness..."

That's how it gets done! Do we have the courage and foresight to do the same!

Maybe the school should hire the Holy Cross Guy!  Lots of coaches' heads would be on the chopping block if that were the case given his track record in Woosta.  If I were the new Ad coming in. I would ask one simple question of each coach "What are you doing to create winning teams and win PL Championships?"  Their answers would be most informative.

Well said. Fordham has made a lot of strides as well, even though they still struggle in basketball.  Fordham also had a do nothing AD who was around forever, and replaced him with David Roach formerly of Colgate. I don't think Roach is anything special, but is competent, and Fordham folks seem to be very satisfied so far.

We don't have the inclination at the top, the money (leadership gift for a modest swimming pool improvement gets naming rights?),or the guts to do anything--anything!--approaching that. But, hey, Markle-ites prove me wrong.

That whole elevator thing is more indicative of a leadership problem at the school than a dozen 1-10 football seasons.

Difference between LC and HC is their school is changing the culture and not just a coaching position. I'm betting they have some level of success. Make take a decade or so to really reach the goals but it is a start. I like their plan.

Agreed fly.  I just don't think it will take a decade.
