Sagarin rating today, Dec. 23: No. 330 out of 351.
Colgate is No. 301, Dartmouth is 304. Alabama A&M is last.

Lafayette needs six league wins to get to 10 total. Seven if beating D3 Moravian isn't included, so include it!

Commentators for other teams keep saying "This is not characteristic of a Fran O'Hanlon team" as the turnovers pile up and the defense disappears.
Yes, it is.
The rebounding deficit is of course characteristic. That's a given.

Opponents/Sagarin/result:

Villanova, No. 4, 88-48 L
St. Peter's, 231, 61-57 W
NJIT, 224, 84-83 W (this year's signature win)
Cornell, 280, 82-75 L
Princeton, 117, 71-55 L
Drexel, 206, 74-70 L
St. Francis-NY, 333, 74-72 W
Penn, 133 , 81-52 L
Sacred Heart, 300, 85-61 L
Moravian, D3, 104-67 W
St. Joe's, 99, 92-63 L

How low can we go?

Ten wins, "Can it be... Can it be?" in keeping with the holiday spirit.

Colgate at home one week from now. That's a game Lafayette must win.

Saw some of the American v Villanova game. American is going to be a handful. Noticed Colgate stayed with ND 77-62. Other than LC, there are no softies in the League again this year. Three League wins maybe. When Dan Trist left he took about 7 League wins with him.

Let's look at facts, instead of your bias opinions.

Recent NCAA participants:

2016 Holy Cross
2015 LAFAYETTE
2014 American
2013 Bucknell
2012 Lehigh

One year ago Lafayette earned a NCAA tournament bid and you think we should fire the coach.

Lehigh now in it's 4th year with Kempton and hasn't made the tournament since 2012.

It's obvious that the league is well balance with 5 different winners over the last five years.

Instead of studying the facts and supporting the team and coaches you would rather bad mouth everybody.  You are not fans, not supporters, but rather haters.

So now you can hate me too.

Fran is a great coach and person hopefully he gets the pieces in his next recruiting class that fits his system and blends well with the current team, having said that Fran will be 69 next season and the rigors of recruiting and coaching might be taking its toll...Fran has my support for now!

Opinions vary.
This team is working on two decades without consecutive winning seasons. Yes, 1 1/2 seasons ago, a team with three 1,000-point scorers and additional solid contributors went 9-9 in the league's regular season, then got hot at the right time and made it. That was great. It was also the exception. The 41-point loss was the biggest NCAA blowout that year, just one more "boys against men" game for the Leopards.
Lafayette has not won an NCAA or NIT game since 1972 (and has never won an FCS playoff game). This is supposed to be a D1 team with a tradition.
The facts are quite clear, Lafayette has been a poor performer in a weak league.
As for hating, especially on an anonymous chatboard, I have no time or need for it. Really it's juvenile even to discuss it, don't you think? I deal with much more serious issues in the real world without encountering such talk.
Those who find this state of affairs to be satisfactory, you're welcome to it. Reasonable people can disagree on things, that is the point of a chat board or any conversation, without making anonymous insults.
I don't find this performance to be satisfactory and the facts back me up.
Happy Holidays!

No psychobabble, just basketball.
Colgate is a woeful team, 1-11 in D1.
Lafayette is a woeful team, 3-7 in D1.
Colgate ranks above Lafayette by the numbers. How much that means on this backside of fake D1 ball is a matter of conjecture.
Lafayette beat NJIT, which beat Colgate.
Cornell beat Lafayette (Cornell stinks) and Colgate beat Cornell.
Colgate has a coach on the hot seat.
Lafayette's coach, the Svengali of this no-rebound no-defense low-effort crew should be be on a hot seat too.
Colgate at Lafayette, Friday. It's a must-win contest for both.
The Leopards have to take this at home. Otherwise no league game is safe.

*Corrected for Friday opponent.

Matt Langel's seat at Colgate isn't even slightly warm.  He is under contract for four more years and has done a good job considering the difficulties of winning at Colgate.  In 2015, Colgate went 12-6 and finished 2nd in the PL. Last year they were 9-9 and tied for 4th. Only serious misconduct could cost Langel his job before March 2019.
