|We wind up the final losing events of one of the worst, dreariest, most mind-boggling and generally depressing years of Lafayette sports (again ... this is routine).
Yet there is new promise in football, and something akin to a faint distant gleam of hope in women's basketball, even if it is a dark, foreboding "Lord of the Rings" menacing-quest-that-will-result-in-many-casualties kind of hope.
As for men's basketball, if anybody out there sincerely supports our summer league team masquerading as D1 ball, seek professional help. You finally saw the light in football, but your symptoms here are more stubborn.

Thank god for volleyball!
All in all, I'll call it a break-even year.
