Coach Dell is staying no sure for what position but texted my son that he is still going to be there

Ian Dell is one of the guys who makes sense to retain, along with Luke C., perhaps.

One of our finalists James Perry was named head coach at Bryant.  At least we won't have to face his offense next year again vs. Princeton.  Garrett is already showing very solid decision making skills, which this and actually being a leader is already a major improvement.

Hearsay on campus that Coach McFadden has been retained. Are you insiders confirming?

Trying to confirm. I have no word yet. He is a good coach, person, recruiter. Has some versatility with special teams experience

Mickey Fein is officially out.

Anything on Stan Clayton?

Mickey and Art are both officially out as well as a GA (not sure which one). Others all interviewed and are waiting. Clayton does have some Princeton connections to Garrett so he may not be an outright no

I just couldn't see Garrett keeping our coordinators. He will want his own guys. Plus Link and Fein bare some responsibility for our performance. I thought Link might have a shot if there was any history there, or a matchup in philosophies, or if Garrett didn't have someone lined up.

I know McFadden is well-liked. Special teams certainly has improved with better talent at LS and K. But assuming a clean slate, is there anything that McFadden has done to distinguish himself from the pool of "people with NFL and BCS experience" that Coach Garret has at his disposal?

all depends on who is at his disposal. remember, we  don't pay much. plus you usually want to keep a couple from the previous staff for some continuity  with players and recruits.

McFadden is not just a solid coach, but also one of our best recruiters, who has been working hard to expand our recruiting beyond the NE into markets like Florida, where both HC and Colgate have had so much success. I suspect he has also probably developed strong relationships with some of our top recruits and their families. Given his undoubtedly modest salary, it makes all the sense in the world to keep him.

Coach McFadden has changed his twitter page header from Secondary and Special Teams coach to just "Secondary Coach at Lafayette College."  Glad he's staying with us.
