Pards looking dominant. Faster, more athletic, better stick skills. Also, the streaming video glitches seem to have been remedied.

Pards are able to stick check without making illegal contact. Longwood doesn't have the skills to match. This is all about superior athleticism, agility and control - and, of course, training and coaching. It's a pleasure to watch a Lafayette team performing well.

Pards up 7-1. Possession is everything in lacrosse, and the Pards have had possession about 85% of the game so far. Emma Novick already has the hat trick not even half way through the first.

Now Janzer has the hat trick as well, and it's still the first half. Pards up 9-1.

I think Charlotte Rath is literally twice as fast as anybody else on the field. Pards up 10-1.

Easy to say when you're this far ahead, but this team has some upside. With Wilhelmsen and Novick , we'll be "in" most games. Goaltending still might be an issue.

Yeah, Navy beat this Longwood team 20-3. We'll see how things are after Rutgers and Temple.

Longwood trying to be even more physical now. To their credit they're not being at all chippy about it. They're just showing a no-quit attitude, which you have to respect.

Pards still have possession about 85% of the time. That will win more games than any other stat.

Now Kirby has a four score. This is getting fun. Pards up 15-3.

Novick matches with a four score of her own. 16-3.

17-3 with 5 mins left. Time for Coach Fisher to empty the bench.

18-3, Final. Pards did everything right. Save for the odd miscue here and there, it was just about a perfect game of lacrosse for the Maroon and White.

If you watch the highlights or get a chance to watch a bit of the LSN replay, watch the Pards' stick control. Awesome. These players are the elite of the elite, believe me. I dare any guy who has ever picked up a lacrosse stick to try to do that with a narrow, no-pocket women's stick. It's damn near impossible.

Nice to see a offensively dominant game by a Lafayette team. Its a long season but right now we can be optimistic. It's good to see scholarships well used.

Offensive dominance is what we saw because the Pards almost always had possession of the ball. But at the other end of the field, Longwood had a grand total of 6 SOG. Think about that. Our defense allowed only six shots on goal.

If you don't let 'em shoot, they can't score. It's as simple as that.

Dana Smith (#29 - watch her!) is the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week after that overwhelming shut-down of Longwood around the home net. Smith's stick-checking was awesome and she just didn't let 'em shoot. Well deserved.

Congratulations!
