This could be just plain ugly. GoLeopards site has the game scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at 7PM. Even they are a mess!

There may still be a slim possibility of consecutive trips to Hamilton for the last game and a playoff. That is quite an incentive to avoid the basement.
I don't think Cherry has played more than token minutes since the Boston game. Perhaps our college media staff can ask about that.

He was put in with about 6 minutes left in the lehigh game and played well getting a few rebounds,  points and FTs.

"I decline to comment on the grounds that anything I say might be interpreted as:
--a negative statement about an 8-19 team that is down 21 points after 20 minutes (again)
--a suggestion that the makeup of the current team might be a reflection on decisions made by the coach."

As neither of the above could possibly be accurate, that's all!

Now let's prepare to watch a huge comeback. Or you prepare; I've seen enough.

Because the Pollyanna's don't want us to say anything negative, the Shae Peppler halftime show on Campus Insiders was nice.

Bruce McCutcheon's favorite Maddon quote "Lafayette was the best thing that ever happened to me.’”

My favorite Maddon quote "Try not to suck."

Hey tough guy who likes to rip 17 year olds. Put your name on your criticisms so the parents can come and talk to you.

I am staying out of the message board ettiquite discussion, but I will say this team is just about as bad as the tail end of the Leone era.  It's hard to watch.  Fran is now in his late 60's and is really struggling to find the players he needs to compete.  Sad to see another once proud program in this state.

Feelings .... nothing more than, feelings ....
(And a Bucknell team-record-tying 17 three-pointers)
But, back to feelings ...
It's time for this message:

Lafayette does so many things well, which makes the sports futility more frustrating.

I drove through Easton around 5:45 a.m. It was 44 and damp.

Very true, hard to watch, in a bad place not sure if any of the transfers (Hoffman maybe) would've helped.  Struggling to find players is a great way of putting it, FT,  Fran made dozens of offers as followed by verbalcommits.com.   The Cross fans seem ecstatic with their class, Carmody is 65.

Lafayette loses a great player after this season. So next year's top six, seven will be Klinewski, and some mix of Jarrett, Zalys, Stout, Stafford, Janacek and Petrie, based on minutes this year and need.
Tai Bibbs is still out there but he's drawn a lot of interest.
Cherry got 13 minutes last night. That's more than he's gotten in several games this month.

We had fun watching guys like Tony and Trist develop, Seth and Bryce on all-rookie teams, trips to the finals and the championship. Team was dangerous in the PL tourney, Fran highly respected. I thought things were set to continue at a high level with successive classes Nick, Monty, Hoffman; Matt and Stafford. What happened? The former bunch kind of blew up leaving one terrific player. Matt has come on and Stafford is a contributor. But the next class has been a disappointment. Auston was billed by Fran as a guy "who can really shoot from all over." Huh? Lots of strengths to his game and I perk up when he comes in, but he's not a shooter. I'm a bit disappointed in Zalys development. Sometimes easy to forget they're just sophs. We need them to keep working, getting better.  Anyway we're playing with 2 scorers and we lack quickness on the perimeter (and all over). Bucky - 3 passes to a wide open shooter, we run out with a hand at chest level. We've never been the most athletic team, of course, but we had shooters to keep us in games. Not this year.

One senior, young team, transfers out, low # of schollie players, recruiting not keeping up with the rest of the league. I have no answers, just trying to figure out what happened. Fran has not forgotten how to coach. Very frustrating but I support kids as long as they're working hard to improve.

Most others are considerably less ecstatic about Carmody's recruiting class than the HC fans.  Only time will tell.  With Carmody's system, the whole may be greater than the sum of the parts.
