Thanks to LFN board for finding this:
Forbragd chooses Lafayette College
CAMDEN – Camden senior D.J. Forbragd, the first team All-State selection who led the Blue Devils to a league title and the Section III Class A final, has verbally committed to play football at Lafayette College.
Camden coach Aaron Fiorini said the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Forbragd would be signing a letter of intent today at the school.
Forbragd, a quarterback, defensive back and kicker, rushed for 1,026 yards and 16 touchdowns and passed for 1,130 yards and a school-record 14 touchdowns. He also set another school record with a 42-yard field goal.
Fiorini said Forbragd made three official visits and chose Lafayette over Colgate University and Fordham./////
It will be interesting to see today if DJ will be competing at QB or elsewhere. Have to do some googling on this one. |

Athletic and a hell of a competitor! Two points: if Shoop hadnt come to us would DJ have been our QB recruit? Secondly, he's got excellent size for a WR--wonder if that's a possibility down the road?
There's a lot of available video on DJ via google.
Piece from The Rome Sentinel:
Camden all-star Forbragd signs on with Lafayette
SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT — Camden’s DJ Forbragd, shown in action last fall, has signed a national letter of intent to play football at Lafayette College. (Sentinel file photo by Angela Madonia) CAMDEN — Camden Central all-state football player DJ Forbragd has signed his letter of intent to continue to play Division I-AA football for Patriot League member Lafayette College, a private school in Easton, Pa. next season.
Forbragd played quarterback, defensive back and kicker for the Blue Devils, who finished 4-1 in league play and 6-4 overall last season.
He led the team in passing with 1,130 yards and a school-record 14 touchdown passes and rushed for a team-high 1,026 yards with 16 rushing touchdowns to lead the Blue Devils to the Class A National Division title and a spot in the Section III Class A final.
Camden coach Aaron Fiorini said that Lafayette is getting not just a great athlete to add to their program but is also getting a great team player in Forbragd.
"He’s the type of kid that will do whatever it takes to win. He’s more about the success of the team than himself," Fiorini said.
"He makes teams better around him because of his abilities and he really made some big plays for us all season," he added.
Forbragd said that he narrowed his choices between Colgate, Fordam and Lafayette before settling with the Leopards.
"I went there on a visit and I just felt really comfortable there. I knew that I could stay there all four years and develop into a solid player," Forbragd said.
The multi-positional athlete said that he didn’t care what position that he played in college, but said that head coach Frank Tavani said that if he can learn the system he might see playing time during his freshman season.
"I just want to get on the field the fastest way I can. If I have to play defense, I’ll play defense. I just want to get out there and win some games," Forbragd said. /// |
